The property is like a tropical oasis. The pool was so pretty. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Our favorite place so far in the Philippines. The ac worked great. Showers were strong and hot. There was a light blanket on the bed in addition to the sheet- a first for us so far in the Philippines.

Nice Set up pool and gardens
One of the best Hotel set ups I stayed. Apart from TV reception the room was awesome, nicely set up, it's aged but everything worked. The gardens, pool and outlay is refreshing. Once Hotel development across road finished, more direct access to beach should be returned

Very helpful staff and flexible also. The place is really nice too, I just wish there was a quick access to Alona beach but still this place is really good for it´s price and the pool makes up for the longer distance to beach :)

Simple and comfortable, good value
Only needed a night's stay for weekend diving. So needed something basic, clean and with warm showers, that is walking distance from beach and restaurants. This suited me fine.

OMG!!!! This is our new home away from home. We had booked 10 days here originally, then after we arrived we fell in love with this resort. We ended up booking 10 more days because we loved it so much. The rooms are perfect and cozy. The pool is fantastic. The staff is so very nice and I feel like we have become friends. The grounds are beautiful. Great restaurant and convenience store just steps from the front gate. And the room prices puts a smile on my face. This is my fifth visit to panglao and I have never had this experience anywhere else. I wish I had known about this resort before. You will not be disappointed in any way. We highly recommend Alonaland!!!!!!!!!

Very nice place and staff, next door there is a Swiss/German style bar. Great food and regulars. Loved the bungelo style room. Very quiet, other food just up the road. Unfortunately someone is building a hugh beach front property, blocking easy access to the beach.

The focus of this resort is the dive shop the hotel is secondary. The staff acts friendly but they don’t help with bags or anything else almost as if it’s not their job. They are too casual. There is no working BBQ like advertised. There was a nice outdoor kitchen but the light did not work. When I asked for a lamp because we arrived late and I needed to make dinner for the family I was told “ sorry there are no lamps” and the new lightbulb that my husband had to put in himself did not work. My husband asked the same female staff member, about 30 seconds later for a lamp and the she handed him a lamp. Funny how she was more than happy to make him happy. Needless to say I was not happy with her behavior and I told her. The next night we found an extremely sharp three pronged object clamped on the seam in our pillowcase. It had scratched my 9 year olds hands. That evening when I asked the same staff if she knew anything about it. She ran and got the manager who I had been asking for all day. So now it’s 11pm and I’m being verbally attacked by two staff members outside my door one who said she was the manager and then she said I myself planted the object and that I am mean person. I pointed out that even if it was not the female staff person it certainly looked intentional because the middle prong of the object was sticking straight up and wouldneed a tool to make that happen and they needed to investigate. They continued to accuse me. Alona Land = crazy dangerous place.

To everyone who encounters THIS guest, please be careful— I recommend calling for security or be extra cautious (to accommodations who wish to know her name, please contact me). Not only was she extremely rude to us (publicly called our receptionist a prostitute multiple times, tried to intimidate me by closely shouting at my face, rudely brought up religion, acted like a misbehaved child by flaunting her chests, etc.), our guests were also terrified due to her poor and aggressive behaviour (she even screamed at one of our guests). In regards with her luggage, she clearly said she did not need our help (some guests are extra cautious of their belongings so we respectfully ask first)— the proof is recorded by our security cameras. As for the light, is it not enough that we apologised and promptly addressed your concern? Or did you still had “other” concerns? Our outdoor grill is made of bricks and wood are already provided for free— it will take time so I recommend buying charcoal outside. When the guest entered the gates of my home unannounced at around 9PM, she was only asking for my staff. She requested for her kitchen deposit while rudely accusing my receptionist as a prostitute for wearing a dress (New Year Party) and for inserting the sharp object in the pillow to hurt her son— therefore, I approached the guest few minutes later and asked the reason for her behaviour. She brought up the topic that we wanted to hurt her child (the guests said she filmed the whole process of finding the pin in the ROOM and found it BEFORE her son got hurt) and also said this isn’t her first time— I wonder. The moment she realised she spilled information she shouldn’t have, she quickly changed her attitude and said she pities me therefore will not call the police anymore. But since I was already disgusted of her behaviour, I attempted to call for security to further investigate this matter— which made her nervous. Other than the pin and safety of her son, she seems to be more concerned of my receptionist as she keeps bringing it up. Luckily for her, her husband is polite and I didn’t want to ruin her son’s vacation so I left her off with a warning. Anyway, we bid you and your family a safe travel but please, do us a favour and never show up in Alonaland again. Thank you! Sincerely, The Management

Property is ok overall. The only reason we booked it though is because on Expedia it said 1 min walk to the main beach. It was hard to tell from google maps, it was located very close to the beach, but when we got there it turned out it’s 25 mins walk to the beach!!! As you have to go back on a main road and walk down. Total deception as we were specifically looking for a place right on the beach. We had to hire a scooter for that reason and it was not at all what we were expecting. Extremely disappointed with that as it was the main thing for our stay.

In order to reach Alona Beach by foot, it takes 15 minutes (without the exaggeration) but we do provide a free beach shuttle to transport our guests to the beach until 17:00. Thank you!

A very relaxed Hotel with all the staff cheerful and very helpful. The pictures on the website did not do the hotel justice. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would definitely come here again. The kitchenette was more than adequate for all the cooking we wanted to do. Near to the Alona beach which was good. Without all the facilities of a much larger hotel it was a very good casual hotel

Problematic
From the outside it is hard to tell whether this property is still in business. The owner has seemingly abandoned the idea of maintaining the buildings or grounds. I arrived at night and stared into blackness for a while. The interior of rooms are not that bad. Poor internet. Worst thing, though, is that property is left wide open at night and THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT GUARD OR OTHER SECURITY HERE! I think hotels.com should try to do a better job in verifying that their hotel clients are really functioning as such.

Amazing find! Very quiet and pretty.
Great resort - very quiet and beautiful. Only small issue is there is no easy beach access so guests must walk to the main road, over, and back down to the beach... about a 10-minute walk. That said, we loved this place and would still stay again.

Nice looking resort but needs renovating. Close to the beach but be sure to ask for “gate pass” to walk through the resort in front of Alonaland.

This hotel does not provide basic things like shampoo and soap. The receptionist asked 300 php hourly penalty for the late check out. It was not noticed or given statement about the policy. It was hidden extra cost. I went for international call before check out and it took some time. If i had known the policy already, i would have checked out beforehand. At the sudden request for the penalty, i felt so bad

You were already informed upon check in and when you inquired about Island Hopping, that we charge an hourly, late check out penalty. This said, it is NOT a "hidden extra cost". Also, late check out penalties are not considered as "hidden fees", it is only sensible for accommodations to charge their guest because you were already staying beyond the checkout time. We advice that when you decided to extend your stay, please inform the receptionist beforehand so such issues like this wouldn't happen again. Do not fret, we do have a printed statement in regards to this policy. We tried to reach you out again to remind you of the penalty but since you were not in your room (as you stated, you were out making international calls and took some time), we only hoped you remembered. Hidden Gem
The hotel is perfect. We stayed 8 nights in 2 bedroom separate house and I would like to stay longer. The hotel has very green garden. The beds are comfortable. It's 2 minutes walk to Alona Beach if you get pass (the hotel has only 6 passes)thru the hotel in from of Alonaland. The staff is very friendly. There are restararaunts and grocery shops nearby. The main street is in 5 mins walk. If I will come to Panglao I will stay again.

We stayed in a very spacious cottage and it was very clean and quiet. The property’s staff were very helpful and friendly from booking a motorbike to arranging for laundry service. Access to the beach was easy and a good location. Would definitely recommend this property.

Peaceful, pretty, and relaxing environment - appreciated that it felt very private, yet the staff was also friendly. A nice walk to the beach the long way around, with plenty of dining and other options along the way. Would stay here again.

Nice place run very poorly. Firstly we were allotted a wrong room from our booking. So next day we were moved. But again that room was reserved from the following day hence we had to move again to another room. We landed up occupying three rooms in our four nights stay! Make sure you get a room with kitchenette as the other room is crap. Pool is the best part of this place. Wifi is very poor. Our aircon in the third room kept shutting off. Fan above dining table was not functioning. House keeping left a broom in our room and smoked while in there, as we could get the stink. All in all, only stay if you don't get other acco.

Hello Aspi, greetings from Alonaland Resort! In regards to your booking, the mistake was not our fault but from Hotels.com. They had a system bug and due to this, your reservation was affected (this has already been explained to you several times). Since you requested for a room with kitchen but Hotels.com made a mistake, I (The Management) decided to give you an upgraded room (free of extra charges—which is more than the compensation you’ve kept on requesting) and had to move you TWICE (please avoid exaggerations) due to fully booked. In fact, the moment you arrived, you’ve already been staying in a room with a kitchen so how come you’re complaining about the other rooms when you haven’t even stayed in them? Wifi (as stated online: Wifi is in Public Areas) in the Philippines is not as great as what you have in your homeland, unfortunately. As for the Aircon, we sincerely apologize and we’ve already replaced the unit. In regards to the broom, I apologize in behalf of my staff but I can assure to you, none of them are smokers. The smoke (from burning of leaves) came from our neighbors so we have no control over that matter but only to inform you during your stay. Hopefully, you can find a better accommodation (w/ kitchen) with the same price we offer here in Panglao, Alona. Have a nice day and thank you. Sincerely, The Management

Bad place to stay
I was very disappointed with my stay at Alonaland resort apartelle, first I booked a room with a kitchenette and upon arrival they told me i only had a standard room without a kitchenette and had to pay an extra 585 pesos per night to get a kitchenette. The towels they provided were old and smelly and the bed sheets were old and terrible faded all in desperate need of replacement. They only change the sheets every 3 days and towels every other day. We happened to remove the sheets on one of the beds and the mattress cover was badly stained. When I complained about it, one of the cleaners said I am the only one complaining, which my fiance told me. It seems they may only hand wash the sheets and hang them on a clothe line to dry. Our room had many ants we had to buy spray to eliminate them. There were many mosquitoes, which made it hard to sit out on the patio. Also lots of cats that invaded the trash can they provided in the outside kitchenette. The service was sub par in comparison to other resorts in Panglao. I would never stay at this resort again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.

Hello Dwayne, greetings from Alonaland Resort! In regards to your booking, the mistake was not ours but from Hotels.com since they had a system error—which unfortunately affected yours. We’ve contacted Hotels.com and gave you the choice if you wish to upgrade your reservation to a larger room: Family Room w/ kitchen (pool front)—which you agreed to. As for the kitchen deposit, it is a one time “deposit” and not a fee (we return the deposit upon checkout). As requested, we made sure your sheets and towels were changed almost every day. As for the smell, we apologize if the scent is not of your liking and as for the look of our towels and sheets, we apologize that we are not able to provide qualities that appeases your standards. Againn, the patches you saw on the mattress cover were due to bleach and not from bodily fluids. We spray every corner of the kitchen with insecticides but since the ants in your kitchen has multiplied excessively, that is due to the food you left openly or utensils left unclean in the kitchen sink. Yes, mosquitos are unavoidable in an environment with lush greenery (especially during rainy seasons). It is a rule to have your kitchen waste thrown in the waste bin and NOT in the trashcan. Rest assured, we have already addressed your concerns. Sincerely, The Management

We wouldn't stay again!
Stayed for 7 nights with intent to stay an additional 7 nights, if we liked the place. Good pool, large room and a comfortable bed. Check in is at 2pm and we arrived at 2:45pm and had to wait for an hour for our room to be cleaned. Hotel does not provide soap, shampoo or dish soap. They do not service your room, unless you specifically ask for it. Wifi totally sucked! It did not work inside our room, but worked outside intermittently for 2 days when all wifi stopped working throughout the resort. It was not working for 5 of our 7 night stay and wasn't working when we checked out. Staff just doesn't communicate with guests on problems and just don't really care if you are happy or not. We chose the resort because of its proximity to the beach which required a pass through adjacent resort. We asked for a pass and they said a pass was no longer available. Beach option was using a shuttle available about 4 or 5 times a day, or walking the road up, around and back down, about 25 minutes of you ignore the tours trying to sell you everything. We decided to spend a second week elsewhere, where we would be appreciated for spending our time and money with them.

Hello Roy, greetings from Alonaland Resort! We are happy that you felt comfortable during your stay. In regards to the delayed check-in, we sincerely apologize. Housekeeping is done DAILY and on REQUEST but as much as possible, it is done every day to ensure cleanliness. The Owner personally approached you during your stay to inform you about the WiFi (we had issues with the WiFi due to hardware malfunction. At this point, we have no control but contact technical support every day for follow-up) and even asked if you had any concerns you want us to address. You specifically said that there was none. So, to accuse us of not caring for our guests is extremely disrespectful. The distance from our resort to Alona Beach is approximately 700 meters, so to say that you need 25 minutes to travel is questionable—unless you were actually taking your time with the “tours trying to sell you everything”. We had a 2 bedroom with small kitchenette. It was clean. Had loads of shelves and hanging space in the bedrooms. Basic kitchen applicences. Hot shower. The pool was clean. Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were all lovely too.

although we disappointed about the 1min. from the beach totally lie its 15 mins. to the beach. but theres a kitchen so we can cook because everything in panglao is so expensive. the room price is reasonable. the blankets dont smells good. i hope they have free service going to beach

Gate passes are available at the reception for quicker access to the beach but if you're travelling in groups, we have a shuttle (free of cost) that can transport you to Alona Beach.
