Really enjoyed our stay and are glad we were able to find this on short notice. Very clean and comfortable. The location was first rate! Rear deck overlooked pond and the beach was steps away. Can recommend highly.
The condo could not be more perfectly located— overlooking an adorable turtle pond, the beach just steps away, the state park just around the corner, and in between the two adorable towns of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. Host was kind and responsive. Would love to visit again.
We have vrbo several times. This place was uber clean and stocked. We did have to bring our own beach chairs, but folks tear stuff up. Owner was Johnny on the Spot with communication. Place is much more modern than the pics appear. Give it a shot, you will not be disapppinted. Also has a padded bench in the window which a smaller person could sleep on.
Property was clean, well maintained, great location and very pleasant place to stay.
Only suggestion to property managers is to provide a couple of suitcase caddies
great location just across from the beach. It was a quick trip but we loved spending the day at the beach and the pups were just as happy. Thanks so much for being so responsive if we called about anything. :)
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It had all of the necessities plus a few extra things that were just nice to have. It is right across from a short path to the beach and the pool is just a little walk down the road. The beach and the water are very nice. We also enjoyed the little pond out back. The people were very friendly. We eould definitely rent this property again!
Owner was very responsive, townhouse was very clean and steps from the boardwalk, location on the Cape was perfect. Less crowded/developed than other gulf coast areas but beautiful beaches and water. Sunsets were amazing from the beach. Close by trading post w/groceries, bait and tackle store, seafood market, ice cream, liquor, and a few restaurants gave us everything we needed with no extra developments that we didn’t want to be around. Very peaceful, kids could ride their bikes to the park, long bike trail, and ice cream stores, and plenty of space on the beach to find an open area to surf fish. It was exactly what we were looking for, will try to return again next year.
The property was well maintained, clean and perefect fit for our family of 5. The beach and pool are both really close to the unit. Definitely recommend stay here.
Everything about this place was great, literally a 2 minute walk and you are on the beach. Fully stocked kitchen with everything we needed and then some. Would highly recommend!
Barrier Dunes is a wonderful little gated community with easy beach access and a private beach that allows dogs. It's like visiting Florida 40 years ago. We had a lovely stay, and found the place to be well maintained. The owner called to check on us, nd made sure everything was going well for us. Would definitely book again.
First time to Cape San Blas and it was excellent. We had an issue with the fridge not cooling but Steve handled it perfectly. Bought a new one and had it delivered the next day which is a difficult thing to get done. We would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful location. Enjoyed local restaurants. Nice exploring in the state park. Couldn't get Keurig to work. Luckily I'd brought my own. Home is clean but outdated. Sofa and chairs have seen better days. Outside furniture rusted and uncomfortable. Bed was great! Loved that big area with bed /bath/w&d. The complex has rat population. Even saying that , we'd stay there again. Steve was always right on top of things.

The condo was nice. We had perfect weather and enjoyed the condo.
I loved the kitchen- it had everything we needed and was a nice size. The dining room table was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck. My only complaint was the couch was a bit worn and needs to be replaced.
The neighborhood was fantastic as always. Amenities are great. Distance to the sand is great! The property appeared clean and most was. Since this is a pet friendly property I would suggest cleaning the carpet on the stairs as there is a faint urine odor. Also when you pull out the couch bed there is pet fur and dirt so maybe the cleaners can get that cleaned out. Bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms are clean. The floor needs a good deep clean maybe steam it and needs mopped a few times as the doors were pretty dirty. We understand it’s the beach and there is dirt and sand and it’s impossible to get it all. My only other suggestion is for families who cook more than going out like us is a large frying pan, a larger pasta pot and some baking sheets. Just do an updated kitchen inventory. We will always stay at barrier dunes and we would love to return to this unit!

Maintenance past due
Thought we would enjoy one more night at the beach so we booked this condo last minute. My mistake. Couldn’t check in till 4 and it wasn’t ready then. Thought we would sit in balcony with our two year old grandson. He touched one of the rails and it wasn’t attached. He could have fallen off the second floor. Thankfully I always had a hand on him. Outdated and needs maintenance. Do not recommend.

Unhappy renters
This property needs extensive upgrades and repairs. The TV in the master bedroom did not work, the refrigerator leaked all over the floor every time the ice maker made ice, the furniture needs replacing and there needs to be more seating available.(one old couch and a hard back chair is all that is available in the living room), pots and pans need to be replaced, we were afraid to cook with them, the dishwasher has not been taken care of so we washed all utensils by hand, and the outside shower is just a pipe with a shower spout.

almost perfect
The condo was great. The view was amazing. The layout was perfect. The furniture was in good condition. The patio furniture seemed new. Overall it was clean and a good experience. Only a couple of things that were not. There was no door on the master suite so there was no privacy really for me & my husband. There was only a partial roll of toilet paper (which is random). We had to go buy garbage bags and dish soap as well. They wanted dishes to be started in the dishwasher when we left but there was no soap so I had to handwash them. The door on the master suite is really my biggest complaint, everything else was minor irritants since it was vacation. I would still go back but would just be better prepared next time.

Best Condo at Barrier Dunes!
The condo was perfect! If you are traveling to the beach, and aren't interested in staying in the obnoxious "beach" themed condo, then this is the place for you! It was clearly one of the best condos at Barrier Dunes. And the owner was even nice enough to stop by and make sure we were all set and even offered up some great restaurant suggestions.
It felt like home away from home. Very clean, modern and spacious layout of the condo with comfortable furniture for a small family. The living room couch was fantastically comfortable, and there was a nice assortment of seating form the bar, and hightop dining table to the comfy window seat.
The condo was located right above the pond so you could see all the turtles from the back deck, and it was right across the driveway from the clubhouse/pool and beach access - very close. The only part we were a bit unsatisfied with was the outdoor patio furniture was a bit worn out - but I am sure that is a simple fix the owners would be willing to upgrade based on the other furniture throughout the condo.
Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend to friends or family, and will stay here again.
Steve was great. Very responsive, great host. I thought the ocean view would be more than it was but that was my fault. I ’ll be back in fact we extended our stay.
Property was very comfortable and the location was perfect. This unit had pretty much anything we needed to cook and eat with. Property owner was extremely easy to deal with and was available anytime I sent a message. Will definitely be booking through this owner and hopefully get the same property on our next visit to Port St Joe.

Needs some TLC
The location of the condo is great. Short walk to beach/pool. However, the property really needs some attention paid to it. Simple things like sweeping/blowing the parking area, washing/painting door and interior. Kitchen/bath need updating but are adequate. Just needs a bit of attention.
