The father of the father & son duo that owns this property kept telling us that if all 10 of us were out on the back deck swimming & grilling, we were breaking the law; not something that you tell law enforcement officers and personnel with security clearances. I contacted the office of Code Enforcement for Panama City Beach & was told that there is NO such code, that the only code it might could fall under is Sec. 17-72- Noise nuisances prohibited, the code is listed below. The Code Enforcement office stated that if would be nearly impossible to violate this code at a private residence with only 10 people because the noise levels have to be measured from a property line that borders their property. Their property is bordered by a car wash which was louder than us talking & laughing; & it's bordered on 2 sides by roads. These people ruined my vacation that my RENTAL money paid their monthly payment on their million dollar investment. My brother was burned by their defective grill that caught fire, trying to move it to keep it from burning down their house; wonder what their insurance company would think about their tenants being burned if a claim was filed against them. His teenage daughter were paranoid about walking around the house in their swim suites because of these owner just showing up unannounced on the back deck & with no blinds on the full glass back door they could see into the house from the back deck without anyone even knowing they were their. As a 48 year old, I was uncomfortable even changing clothes to go swimming because you never knew when or where they would show up. I was constantly running around making sure all the curtains & blinds were closed before I would change. We finally hung a sheet over the door so that we could have some privacy. They use emptying the trash & maintaining the spa as excuses to invade your privacy. The spa should be cleaned & chemicals added prior to check in, but they came back to the house on Tuesday to put another chlorine tablet in &Wednesday with filters.
Code 17-24- Noise nuisances prohibited
b)It shall be unlawful for the owner of a parcel or real property or of a unit or units in a multi-unit building or buildings, or for any person to cause on public streets or on any parcel, sound levels, as measured at neighboring property lines, which exceed:
(1)In areas zoned residential and conservation:
a.60 dBA between 7:00 a.m. and 9:59 p.m.
b.55 dBA between 10:00 p.m. and 6:59 a.m.
