Ideal getaway location
A beautiful, not too rustic cabin set well back from the road. There are no neighbors in the backyard except for the birds, squirrels and deer. There are no neighbors in the front yard either. We needed a break from our daily grind and this wonderful place provided everything we needed and wanted. The host reached out before our arrival and followed up shortly after our checking. He wanted to make sure there were no issues finding the cabin and that everything was working once we had an hour or two to settle in. This is a place we will visit again!

A wonderful weekend stay!

Back for round 3!
This is our family's 3rd trip to this specific cabin and we can't wait for 4... the property is stunning. Its so nice to be away and in a quiet place. The home has everything you could possibly need. And being so remote, we were all thrilled at how much we could see of the night sky. We usually make one trip to town and go to Macados in Farmville. Highly recommend! Cute little town.

I am going to start of by saying, the pictures do not do this home justice. We were attending a holiday celebration. Although the house is secluded, it was conveniently located, 15 minutes from everywhere and everything we needed. It is well stocked and exceeded our needs.

Great for mission team
Beautiful tranquil setting with plenty of fun activities for the young people in our group. There were enough sleeping spaces to accommodate the young ladies, the guys, and the adults comfortably. Very pleasantly decorated and well supplied. Beds were comfortable. A very good experience.

A great holiday weekend in the Spring Creek cabin
The cabin is thoughtfully designed, well built, beautifully decorated, and has everything needed for a relaxing and fun-filled family vacation. There was more than enough space for the seven of us - three couples and a toddler. We enjoyed playing horseshoes, cornhole, pool, and foosball. We soaked in the hot tub, made s'mores at the fire pit, and stargazed in the backyard. We cooked gourmet meals with the fully equipped kitchen and the propane and charcoal grills. We explored the trails around the property, walked across the high bridge, and went to the Farmville farmers market. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable - including delivering a brand new cornhole set when we asked if one was available. The Spring Creek cabin provides a wonderful mix of seclusion and entertainment. The cabin is fully-equipped, with almost every conceivable kitchen appliance and gadget, spices, oils, ziploc bags, paper towels, soaps, etc. Thank you, we hope to come back and stay longer next time!

This was a wonderful property to celebrate our daughters graduation from Longwood University. The family enjoyed the games and outdoor space. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was well stocked. Jim was very helpful and quick to respond.

Wish we had more time
We stayed at the property the weekend of my daughter's wedding. There wasn't alot of time to relax and this was the definitely the place for it. Our family loved the property and wish we had more time there. The only thing that I will say to renters is that you aren't going to have food delivery so plan ahead. The owner was absolutely professional and had everything well communicated!

Great cabin, away from noise, and furnished with plenty of "items" to make your stay complete.
The cabin is beautiful and remote - disconnect from technology - a great place to get away with family or friends. The cabin is very well stocked with paper products, kitchen products (spices, coffee, baggies, foil, etc), records, games, puzzles, firewood, towels, and cleaning products. Plenty of room for big groups to gather. The only negative I have to say is the actual number it can sleep and the rise of the steps and railings. The capacity claims it sleeps 10, which I would agree if you have couples or kids. Our group was 8 ladies. Two drew the short straw and ended up sharing the king bed. The stairs going upstairs and downstairs have an extra large "rise". I see this as a problem for older people and young kids. The railings are also a little higher in proportion to steps. All in all, we would book this cabin again!

Quiet and remote
We really appreciated Jim’s helpful explanations on how to reach the property as it is quite remote! That’s what we loved about it though. Everything was clean and well stocked and easy to find. We loved using the hot tub at night under the stars and building a campfire. Coming from a big city, the absolute quiet was amazing. We plan to come back!

Great place to stay
Our family of six stayed for the weekend and enjoyed it very much! No complaints, other than the hot tub being out of order, but that was out of the control of the owner. It ended up raining and snowing quite a bit so we couldn't have used it anyways. The cabin was clean and we had lots of room and would stay there again, if our travels bring us back to the area!!

Lovely stay
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was large enough to accommodate all of us (8). It was clean and probably more well stocked than any place we've stayed. We did a visit to Appomattox and walked the nearby rails to trails. Check-in and out was easy. I agree with one of the other commenter that the pictures don't adequately capture how great this place is - you won't regret it!.

Perfect Weekend
This cozy cabin was even better than expected. Spring Creek Cabin is spacious and very well stocked with everything you could possibly hope for. Comfy beds, nice big table for meals and family games, and lots of outdoor space for scavenger hunts. We thoroughly enjoyed our New Year’s Weekend, and highly recommended Spring Creek Cabin for your getaway.

No cabin fever!!
It's been five years since my family and I visited this charming cabin and once again it exceeded our expectations. The cabin is clean and well stocked with linens, towels, toiletries, games, movies and amenities for the entire family to enjoy that it makes it difficult to venture out during the day! Although, the matriarchs of our family have passed within the last few years and weren't a part of our reunion this time around we were still able to continue to make great memories at this lovely cabin. The hosts Mr. and Mrs. Booker are wonderful and attentive to your needs and are only a phone call or email away if needed. We are definitely looking forward to our fourth visit!!

For what it is, charming! For where, learn the surroundings before you go! The cabin is nice, if they were to ever put a fridge downstairs in the game room/man cave, the 'men-folk' would likely never leave there!

Amazing Cabin and Property
We rented this cabin for a company meeting and team building. The cabin is amazing inside and out. There were plenty of fun things to do when we were done working each day. There was plenty of wildlife to distract me from the work conversations that went on. Thank you very much to the owners for opening up their beautiful cabin for us to rent.

The house was just as described. The kitchen is one of the best stocked we’ve stayed in so far. The WiFi did not seem strong enough to stream but they had Dish and several movies. Besides the whole idea is to unplug. There are several interesting looking out buildings I'd be interested in the history of.

We Were in Love the Minute We Walked In
Not sure where to start but let me say if we could give 10 stars we would. Everything from owner communication to the minute we opened the front door exceeded our expectations! The cabin is incredible and was sparkling clean. So many personalized touches and a kitchen to die for! Perfect for family gatherings around the table and a chance to really be off the grid. The furnishings were ideal and again, everything was well maintained and spotless. Could not have asked for a better experience! We hope to return again soon.

Wonderful place to “physical distance”!
My family and I just spent a week in this cabin, and wow! Gorgeous, secluded property that made the perfect base camp for our central Virginia getaway. We were able to travel easily to various state parks and civil war battlefields, tour Farmville, and take a couple of day trips to our alma mater (UVA—go ‘hoos!) It was such a great treat to return to this peaceful and well-appointed home each evening. We particularly enjoyed the record player, game room, and sitting outside and star gazing. A couple of notes that I think travelers should know: 1) There is almost zero sound proofing. We could have full conversations with our kids at normal volume when we were in the master bedroom and they upstairs. Not an issue since we were all family but something to know if you go in a big group. 2) So.Much.Clutter. Every drawer and cabinet is just packed with random stuff. I had to move things around to put our clothes and toiletries in drawers. Depending on your opinion of clutter, you will either find it charming or unseemly—we were somewhere in between. All in all, however, this is a WONDERFUL home and Mr. Booker the most delightful and responsive homeowner. We hope it won’t be too long before we can return.

We had a great time at this cabin. The owner Jim was very nice and communicated well. This cabin is secluded with a lot of land to roam and explore. Our children loved riding their bikes through the paths in the woods and the adults loved listening to the wilderness that surrounds the cabin. Great and relaxing fun!

Any one can build a cottage or property for rent, but only very few people can make you feel at home. The owner of the property not only made a amazing property, but they have paid attention to such minute details that we may not even to in our homes. We went for a holiday but felt we were at home. Great experience. Jim was gracious and the property/house was excellent. Extremely accommodating and well-appointed, for sure. Plenty of space, but still cozy. Private and peaceful setting. Excellent value. Especially unique furniture and good mix of decorative and functional pieces. Very, very nice stay for two families at Thanksgiving- easy sleeping options and plenty of room to spread out. Would absolutely stay again. One recommendation- WiFi was very slow/unresponsive. Suggest an upgrade. Oh, and leave a couple Christmas movies/dvd in the cabin around holidays. :) Perfect getaway despite. Thanks!

Great stay!
Very nice property- private, well appointed, and suited our group just fine. Beds were comfy and the kitchen had what we needed for burgers and dogs for dinner. Lack of a shower upstairs presented a little bit of a challenge, but not a big deal in the long run. Will definitely consider this property again in the future!

Loved it there. Nice and secluded. Loved the porch. I sit out on the porch most of the time just listening to nature and enjoying the wilderness. Seen a mommy deer and her baby a couple of times, a wild turkey, a fox and something that looked like maybe a mountain lion. The cabin has everything you could want. If ever back in that area I would stay there again. Thank you Booker family for letting us stay at your cabin. We had a great time.

College graduation weekend
This property was perfect for our family to celebrate the graduation of 3 of my grandchildren from Longwood University. It is a short drive to the college and then friends and family come back for a barbecue. Then in the evening we enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub!!! The cabin is very well stocked with anything you might need. And we all loved sitting on the front porch ..... and the early arrivals on Friday enjoyed Happy Hour on the upper level deck!!! So glad we found this cabin for our special weekend!!!
