The Butterfly 4 Bedroom Home, Ideal Downtown Historic Tennis Club location

The Butterfly House is not a remodel but built 100% new in 2009. This private, modern, iconic, William Krisel designed butterfly home and detached pool casita are ideally located just two blocks west of the vibrant downtown core and nestled in the heart of the charming Historic Tennis Club neighborhood. Located just just steps from both the famous Melvin's Restaurant (w/ 1950's "Rat Pack" style piano bar) and the always hip Avalon Hotel & Spa / Citron Bar & Restaurant, the location couldn't be more ideal for walking to nearby entertainment and sight seeing.

Fully walled and gated backyard for complete privacy while enjoying the infinity edge pool and jacuzzi. Pool has an oversize mosaic bottom tanning shelf, South facing and an IPE hardwood deck with a modern, fire feature will keep you warm on those chilly desert nights. Pool deck has plenty of sunny / shade areas depending on your tastes and extra seating for larger parties.

The modern, detached pool casita is designed as a second master with a full bath, indoor and outdoor showers, kitchenette with a separate, private entrance.

This home may be available for private events and professional photo shoots. The home is located near the Avalon Hotel and Ingleside Inn and is perfectly suited for a bride/groom/family wedding preparation and/or a honeymoon suite. Please inquire with owner.

Girls trip

This home is a perfect place to stay. Walking distance to downtown Palm Springs with eclectic shopping and dining. Beds are super comfortable and pool and jacuzzi the perfect place to unwind and relax. We will come back again.

Great Location & Hot Tub

This is our second time staying at this property. It was a bit chilly this January to enjoy the pool like we had hoped but the hot tub was great and comfortably accommodated six people. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals and snacks. Walking distance to downtown Restaurants made the stay very convenient.

Thanksgiving 2024

Michael's house is nothing short of awesome. It is beautiful and very well equipped. It is also situated on a nice street in close proximity to the main drag in Palm Springs so was very easy to get around. Michael is a pleasure to deal with and responded quickly before and during our stay! Was a great Thanksgiving and we hope to be back at the Butterfly again!

What an amazing experience

This beautiful midcentury modern home was the perfect place for us. There were 4 adult couples and we had a wonderful time there. All four of the bedrooms were very comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out by the pool. We also were able to walk everywhere, since the location is truly right in the heart of Palm Springs, even though the house itself is in a great neighborhood in a very quiet street. Michael was a gracious host and quickly responded to all of my questions. If it's available for the dates you want, I highly recommend staying here!

A truly magical house

We have enjoyed every stay at Butterfly House over the last few years. Michael is a responsive and helpful host whenever we have had a question or need. The house is a dream, honestly. The layout, the beautiful art, the pool, the casita, the privacy -- we've rarely left it once we arrive and prefer to just stay and soak it all in. It's our place when we need to "just be"... Quick Trip

In a far too short stay, we discovered a lovely little gem. It's wonderfully located to downtown, easily within walking distance to local shopping and dining, and everything else I love about being in town. It's entirely private, with a fantastic little backyard and pool. in addition to the 3 bedrooms, it has a separate self-contained casita. The added comfort of inclusion of an available garage cannot be overstated. Everything about the stay was easy, our time was delightful, and we can't wait to come back. Thank you! xoxoxox

Wonderful Stay at the Butterfly House in Palm Springs

We had an absolutely delightful time staying at the Butterfly House in Palm Springs. The location was perfect, nestled in the charming Historic Tennis District. This prime spot allowed us to easily walk to a variety of fantastic restaurants and shops, making our stay even more enjoyable. The house itself was lovely, with beautiful decor and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. It was clear that a lot of thought and care went into maintaining the property. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and the overall charm of the house. Overall, our experience at the Butterfly House was wonderful. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and charming place to stay in Palm Springs. We can't wait to return!

Holiday starter

We and our friends have traveled every year the first weekend of December to get the holidays kicked off and this year we chose to stay at the Butterfly house in Palm Springs. We loved the house, the location, closet space, lighting, the ease of entry & departure and our host! All just fabulous and we would return in a heart beat. Our only yearning was for good coffee with an espresso maker or coffee grinder in the house. Even a drip coffee press would be welcomed. Other than that, all was great. Can't wait to come back.

Beautifully Organised and Cared For

First of all, the property absolutely does live up to the photos on the site, which is great. The property is first rate. Secondly, the instructions provided by the owner are simple, straightforward, user-friendly and comprehensive. We had one or two questions regarding the operation of the hot tub and the owner was immediately responsive and walked us through the process. Location is great, easy walking distance to the centre of Palm Springs. All in all a great experience and we all agreed we would love to return. Thanks for a great holiday!

Mid-Century Modern Holiday!

We had a fabulous stay in this lovely mid-century modern home just 5 minutes from downtown Palm Springs! We loved the pool, spa and the indoor-outdoor bathroom in the casita! It was the perfect desert vacation we hoped for! We also brought our miniature dachshund who loved the shallow tanning ledge part of the pool to cool off in. The kitchen was great but the BBQ was out of propane so we weren’t able to BBQ as planned. The house and casita do need better drapery as the sun would wake us up at 6am in full force. The landscaper also woke us up with the blower just after 7am which was too early for holiday sleepers! Otherwise was a perfect stay and we’ll be back!

Perfect location

We were so fortunate to find this gem in the historic Tennis Club neighborhood. It's difficult to give it the praise it deserves because we don't want this to become so popular that it becomes unavailable for repeat visits. The casita offers a separate quiet spot from the main 3 BR hub. The pool and spa were easy to operate and the kitchen has most all supplies/cookware/small appliances/utensils needed for meal prep. Kitchen appliances are a bit older and the freezer did not keep our items fully frozen. However, with SO MANY wonderful restaurants within walking distance, it's easy to forgo meal prep and dine out for every meal. The host, Michael, was very responsive from the moment we booked until the moment we departed. The main living space has one medium sized sectional sofa and a few other seats so a larger group is challenged to all relax together in the same room. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all good sized. If you value sleeping in, we suggest you invest in a sleep mask as the beautifully restored MCM design has large upper windows which are not serviced with coverings. In all, we enjoyed our time at the Butterfly House.

Great Location, Lots of Room For Everyone

We enjoyed our stay, especially the beautiful casita. It was so nice and easy to walk downtown to shop and eat! Main house might be ready for a little refresh, but the linens were lovely and we slept like babies.
