Location, location, location
Franco was extremely helpful. He not only made sure someone was available to get us right in, but he arranged for parking for our rental car as well. We could not have asked for a better location. It is right off the Main Street with plenty of restaurants and stores easily in walking distance. It was extremely easy to get to the sights without long walks or taking taxis. There was such an amazing vibe right outside your front door. The main living area felt a little cramped and looked bigger in the pictures, but the bedrooms were enormous with very comfortable beds. As long as you don’t mind a little street noise outside your windows (very little) and you enjoy night life this is the place for you. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect time in Palermo!
My family of 5 had a great stay at Casa Petra. Clean, comfortable and convenient apartment. Walk right out front door and you are right in the historic district of the city. Location could not have been any better. We loved Palermo!

Very central
We stayed 3 nights at this wonderful condo. Pros: Franco was a perfect host, gave great recommendations, helped with reservations of transfers and restaurant! Location is in middle of all the actions, restaurants, street vendors. Condo is fully equipped, and clean. Good water pressure in shower. Common area was clean. Very safe area. Cons: can hear all the actions outside well passed midnight, hear upstairs neighbour walking and pulling furniture, shower stall a little small. Overall, highly recommend this condo! Would come back anytime.

We had a great stay. The apartment is very clean, comfortable beds, and plenty of room to accompany our family of 4. The location is close to main attractions, and many restaurants close by. Very easy to communicate with Franco regarding what we needed.

Great apartment, amazing location!
Super comfortable apartment, with all the amenities, in a safe building. We didn't use the kitchen facilities a we found the local eating places very reasonably priced as compared to other countries we visited in Italy. The apartment is steps to the four fountains, in the heart of Palermo, many many restaurants and bars to choose from, and don't miss the local markets for some great food at reasonable prices, they really come alive at night. Enjoy this wonderful city from this beautiful apartment and fantastic location!

Perfect place to stay in Historic Palermo
Franco and his son Flavio were amazing. They assisted in referrals for restaurants and were very attentive. Their new 1 bedroom studio looks amazing too. You will not need a car. Everything is walkable.

Ideal location for seeing everything in Palermo just by walking our your door. Franco was helpful with info, airport pick-up as well greeting by his family members on arrival. We enjoyed being in the heart of Palermo and didn't mind the sounds of the Quattro Canti as we felt part of the atmosphere! Walked to all the sights/ enjoyed our breakfasts in the Casa Petra and nearby wonderful restaurants/eateries - could jog down along the harbour park/ all six of us grandkids/parents accommodated nicely. Fully recommend!

A fantastic location right in the heart of Palermo. There was so much to see and do we ran out of time before seeing all that we wanted too. Our host was very helpful. He lined up a driver and tours for us. We walked all thru town never once feeling unsafe or unwelcome.

Great location, fantastic host
Everything about our stay at Casa Petra was wonderful. The location is perfect, walking distance to local attractions and great restaurants. If you’re not sure what you want to see, Franco provides four walking itineraries for the neighborhood. The apartment is great for two couples. It was spotless and was even supplied with juice, coffee, and pastries to get started for the morning. The bedrooms are a nice size with plenty of storage and it is nice to have two bathrooms. The communication with Franco and his team was excellent before, during, and after our trip. He arranged for our transport to and from the airport and although he was out of town he followed up to make sure everything was okay. He is one of the best hosts we have had.

Outstanding Location, Excellent Home, Great Hosts!
It is hard to say what we loved most about our stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the mattress was excellent (yay!), the communication and assistance from ouor hosts was absolutely above-and-beyond, and the location could not be better. You are literally steps away from the very best part of town. With all of that, I would say the excellent service provided by our hosts was our favorite thing. They were so helpful to us and made our first time to Palermo a breeze. Would absolutely recommend this property!!

Franco was the most gracious host. He provided transportation for us to and from the airport. He offered to show us around and gave tips of places to see. We arrived super early, but he stored our luggage for us. The apartment was clean and very beautiful. The location was perfect. We can't wait to come back!

Palermo is the best!
The apartment I originally rented had become unavailable so Franco upgraded me to another more expensive flat in the same building but at no additional charge. I hadn’t been expecting a terrace but it was a wonderful addition. The flat was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Franco clearly cares that the people who rent from him have a good travel experience. He was helpful in making sure I knew what bus stop to use coming and going to the airport. I can’t imagine a better location. As the building is on a small alley way there is no street traffic noise yet you are steps away from Quattro Canti and Fontana Pretoria. There are endless buildings of architectural beauty to admire as you explore the streets and byways. Having the restaurant Bisso Bistrot just around the corner was a plus. I also liked I Cucci in Piazza Bologni just a short walk away. There are pedestrian only streets adjacent to the flat and the lighting at night is good. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom sink had a ledge with space for toiletries that was helpful. I also liked the closet/clothes storage arrangement. While a historic building, it has been updated and the elevator was great. I was able to walk to all the Palermo sights. I could walk to the train station to go to Cefalù and the bus stop for Monreale. I loved staying at a flat that I could so easily stop by for a few minutes. I am very grateful that I had an opportunity to stay here.

Superb location and comfortable
Could not find a better location in Palermo with major sites and shops all within easy walking distance. Driving in Palermo is a nightmare so this important. Just having a car is problematic with parking, one way streets etc. The apartment is well decorated but a bit squeezy for five.

The stay was great, and the location could not have been better. Franco and Flavio were extremely helpful and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. That said, there were a couple issues with the apartment. First, it’s worth noting the apartment gets almost no natural lighting. Two of the bedrooms have windows facing outside, but it faces a small alley, so even those barely get any light. It shouldn’t ruin your stay, but it’s worth noting. Secondly, there are a lot of things have been neglected in the cleaning. Almost every dish in the cabinets were dirty. Not just mineral sediment dirty, but actual food splatter over most of them. And the water kettle had a whole layer of scum on the bottom. Most of the important stuff was clean (floors, sheets, etc), but the apartment has clearly not had a deep clean in quite some time. Again, didn’t ruin the stay, but still worth noting. All in all, if it’s your first time in Palermo, I **highly** recommend staying here. If it’s not and you’ll want a place comfortable enough to stay in while still enjoying the city view / weather, it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Ciao David Thanks for the review. The apartment is located in a historic building in the heart of the historic center, and like all the historic centers of Sicily and perhaps Europe are formed by alleys, alleys, courtyards because it was the way to build in those times. Clearly, if someone wants a panoramic view, surely it does not have to rent inside the historical centers, but in the new part of the city. We entrust the cleaning of the apartment to a specialized company and certainly the lady who came did not have the accuracy to see if the dishes were clean. I thank you for the warning because for the hard work we have done to make everything perfect we are sorry. I'm glad you pointed out that sheets, floors, towels, etc. Everything was very clean. Your advice for me is an incentive to always do better. Finally, I hope in the future and maybe in the summer to have you as a guest.

Great stay in Palermo
If you are in Palermo, this is THE place to stay. Appartment is located in Quattro Canti. It has everything you may need for your stay. The owners Franco and Chiara are very gracious. They left us some breakfast items, bottled water and juice. They had very good info about area attractions and restaurants. If I were to visit Palermo again, I would not stay anywhere else. Amazing location and accommodations in Palermo
I stayed in this 3 bedroom apartment with 2 friends and had a wonderful stay. The location is amazing with many shops and restaurants and sites just steps away. The apartment was very quiet inside with no street noise. Franco and his son, Flavio, were extremely helpful with everything. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Apartment: Must be the very best location in Palermo
All of the guide books tell you Quattro Canti is the heart of Palermo. This apartment is in an old palace tastefully recycled into modern apartments right next to Quattro Canti. Everywhere worth seeing in the city is easy walking distance. The streets are almost traffic free in the area so there is no worry about traffic noise or smells near the apartment. We enjoyed the sightseeing, Palermo has so much history. We enjoyed the food, more fish than meat and so much more variety than regular Italian restaurants. The restaurant next door - Bisso Bistro - is so good you have to queue for entry even midweek! Our hosts Franco and Flavio did everything they could to help us settle in. They are really nice people and so enthusiastic about their city. Every recommendation they gave us was worth listening to. The apartment has three decent sized bedrooms, ample for our family. All of the beds were comfortable and gave us a good nights sleep. It was spotlessly clean and is obviously professionally looked after. Eating out in Palermo is so good you won't want to use the kitchen, but it is well provided for.

O apartamento é excelente, bem decorado, ótima localização, perto de tudo. Limpeza impecável. E o Franco é um host super-mega-ultra incrível!! Sempre à disposição e nos ajudou com tudo que precisamos. Nos guiou até o estacionamento, nos ajudou com as malas, até nos acompanhou e nos orientou na compra de tickets pro ferry. appartamento molto centrale. Centralissimo. Molto pulito in un condominio antico ma rimesso a nuovo e molto ben tenuto. Molto comode le stanze e molto ben tenute, pulite e ben organizzate. Il titolare è persona gentile e molto disponibile con cui si può fare affidamento per chiedere qualsiasi informazione e suggerimento su Palermo.
