This property is a diamond in the rough. The beach is really beautiful, private, Great soft pink sand & magnificent ocean water. We had some seaweed a few days but nothing that kept us out of the ocean. The water temperature was so perfect I stayed in for over an hour! The beach attendants were so helpful & ran up the hill numerous times to get us drinks. Kudos to Kingston for making our time on the beach so relaxing. I knew going in that the largest complaint was that it is very outdated. So our room was no surprise. They are in the process of renovating & I feel that when all the plans are done, this will be a 5 star boutique hotel. The beach goes right into Elbow Beach which is isolated with hardly anyone on it as the Elbow Beach Hotel has been out of service for a number of years. With that said, the food is just O.K. & expensive, There is a $300 some "resort fee" & for over $6,300 (including our flights to Bermuda from Detroit & back), it was definitely NOT worth the price. Not only was breakfast not included , but there is not even bottled water in the room. My husband had to pay $10 on property for 2 small bottles of water. And ice??? Forget about it. The bar tender that is Canadian was very helpful in getting us some ice. If you choose to stay at this property, be ready to spend a lot of money on taxis getting somewhere else to eat. We are both beach people & it was the main reason for my choice to bring my husband to Coco Reef for his 75th birthday. No disappointment!
