I feel bad giving a lower rating but we picked this out because of the glowing reviews we had read. It was ok. Friendly staff yes! But the place itself was pretty worn out with stained sheets, musty smell, and a puddle under the sink. The bathroom was tiny which I know is because it’s pretty old. But I definitely think this was way over rated in the reviews. No way would I “drive out of my way to stay here”. It was an acceptable place to stay for an overnight stop.

We were passing through on a road trip, and we only stayed one night, but I wish I had longer to stay in the area. We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. Our arrival was a little later than we thought we would be due to bad weather. They left the key in the room for us, which was very nice and convenient for checking in after 9pm. The room was clean and tidy, beds were very comfortable and the place has great character. Had a nice quiet morning sitting on the porch chairs outside the room which was a very nice way to start the morning before heading out on the road again.

Cute Perfect Little Cabin for our stay.

The room was perfect for what we needed. We were in town for Murray State Family weekend, and there were no hotels available in Murray. This was only a 20 minute drive away. It’s close to Kentucky Lake. We drove through the Bison and Elk Prairie. The motel is older but it’s been renovated and is very clean. We loved having the kitchen to be able to eat a couple meals there and save some money from eating out. We didn’t get to use the pool because it was too cool, but it was beautiful and clean.

My son and I spent four nights here on a hunting trip. Nice location near The Land Between Lakes Recreation Area. Staff were very nice. This is a nice, quiet and peaceful place to stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Hidden gem

This is a hidden little gem. The owners have done a wonderful job keeping this vintage motel in top shape. This is definitely a go to for us. It is convenient to local attractions, the restaurant across the street is great and it is pet friendly. I highly recommend staying here.
