Culps Cascade | Wi-Fi, Woodstove, Cedar Hot tub
Culp's Cascade Cabin is a charming 2-bedroom chalet that dates back to 1969. It is one of the earliest homes built in the Timberline neighborhood. The cabin has been updated over the years, but it still retains it's cabin vibe and character. The chalet boasts a large deck space for entertaining and even some partial Goat Rocks views. Relax is the deep cedar hot tub while enjoying the views and ambiance. This cozy, quiet location sits atop a small hill. It has a few neighbors but is also surrounded by woods that provides a mostly private setting.

Other things to note: Steep driveway and stairs (not suitable for elderly or young children). In winter conditions, this cabin is not for the faint of heart. Again...There are also steep stairs inside the cabin to the second floor.

This property does not have AC, but fans are provided for your comfort.
During the summer a burn ban may go into effect in all of Lewis County. During this time campfires, the use of charcoal briquettes, and any other form of burning may be prohibited.
Winters in Packwood may get very snowy. It is the guest's responsibility to be properly equipped for harsh winter driving conditions. We do our best to keep our cabins accessible, but winter traction tires and 4-wheel drive may still be required.

We love this cabin and have stayed there twice. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking/baking, and the little hot tub on the deck is perfect for starting or ending the day. There is also a nice selection of games.
This is the cutest little cabin- conveniently located and has everything you need from games, to music, to a well-stocked kitchen.
Property management was very communicative with check- in instructions.
I can’t wait to come back!
This little cabin is in a great location to White Pass skiing and Mt Rainier hiking. However, it is a bit small for 8 people, although technically it sleeps 8. The hot tub is wonderful! Large deck and nature throughout the side of cabin (we like the privacy). The driveway might be a little steep in winter for some cars if there is snow. Cute place!
We had a great time. Perfect location with easy access to the pass for snow or low level hiking. Quiet neighborhood with privacy. We enjoyed the hot tub daily and played a ton of games. Cabin is cute and suited our needs. That said it could use some updates. Kitchen was lacking basic spices, the only large burner didnt work, several electronics could use either new batteries or new bulbs. The stairs to the loft are very steep more like a ladder and the deck stairs are wood and very slippery when wet. That said, none of this significantly impacted the lovely time we had in Packwood.
The cabin is cute. Hot tub was nice. The provided everything we needed and plenty of towels. The stairs inside the cabin are sketchy. Very steep and not very wide. The kids fell down them a few times. If you go slow they are fine. The cabin was clean minus the dead mouse when we walked in. We disposed of it and the property manager was apologetic. Check in and out was easy. They provided a lot of information. Communication with the property manager was easy and very responsive.
Great location for exploring! It was ski season, so we spent our days at White Pass and snowshoeing nearby. The cabin was cozy and lovely to come back to.
A great little cabin just outside of packwood. A little messy with some spider webs inside and out but thats to be expected when you are in the woods. It does have normal wear and tear of a true lived in house but i feel that makes it more cozy and homey feeling, less like a sterile environment some other places have.
This cabin is very convenient for day trips to White Pass. It was east to find and to check in. The interior is modest and not at all fancy, but the wood stove and hot tub were great amenities. We had a group of five and appreciated the separate dining area and two bathrooms.
Ceiling fan did not work, but using conditioner may a good idea. If it’s for decoration only it would be a good idea to tell ahead of time.

Poor sleep
The property has a lot of amenities, but you have to climb steep and numerous stairs both outside the property and inside to get to the upstairs bedroom. This needs to be specified in the ads. If you are handicapped or have trouble going up and down stairs, avoid this property. Also, the beds are in terrible condition with soft and saggy mattresses that cause you and your partner to roll into each other in the middle of the bed. Extremely poor beds.
This cabin was great! Really comfortable inside, there was one of just about everything we needed in the kitchen, cleaning supplies, sheets beds towels etc. etc. One of the more well-appointed VRBO's I've ever stayed at. Just big enough for our group of 7 (2 adults, 2 teens, 3 kids) to spread out and each have their own playspace.
A few notes: the driveway is truly no joke - I didn't notice that description when renting (I should have read past the ads that interrupted the description). We had no snow so it wasn't an issue - driveway gets nice and close to the house. But if there had been snow we couldn't' have driven up that steep driveway, and hauling our gear up the steep 100+ foot hill would have put a big wrinkle in our trip and made it impossible for our adult with hip issues. So a close shave there.
The bed arrangement is a little awkward with most of the sleeping space being in one room upstairs, and the private bedroom downstairs just has the one small double bed. But with our adventurous group that was just part of the fun figuring out where everyone would go. Most of the beds were comfortable.
Cabin was super clean, fresh-smelling (no musty cabin smell at all), well-lit, and lovely skylights through which to watch the stars our first night or listen to the pounding of rain the second night. We had a lovely stay!
The property is best for a family or group of friends, but was greatly enjoyed by myself and my partner. The house was clean and cozy, had everything you could need, and the hot tub was great too. The beds were not all the same, but luckily it was just us and we chose the most comfortable one. Great location! Great communication with the property manager! I would definitely recommend this listing to others.
This was our 2nd time staying here. Nice quiet neighborhood outside of town. Great place to stay after a long hike on local trails or just to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life.
This was a great place to stay with a large dog. There was plenty of room, clean, the hot tub was a great added feature, and the scenery was fantastic. We would rent this property again.
Thank you!
Loved Packwood, the deck was incredible, kitchen was stocked wonderfully, but the stove insulation was broken and didn't cook accurately. The beds have GOT to be updated. They were the most uncomfortable things and even my resilient children had sore backs by day 2. Management was fantastic.
This was an optimal location for access to Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park and the Paradise area. Also, just 2-3 miles from Packwood for supplies and a nice little brewery. There were a couple of comments about stairs that I disagree for the most part, but the stairs from the main floor to upstairs are a little steep, but manageable (keep in mind that there is a bedroom on the main floor for those unable/unwilling to climb stairs). The only minor negative is the hot tub, and it might be user error, but the jets did not seem to work the way they should. Though, it was still at a good temperature to have a soak while gazing out into the foothills of Rainier.
