We stayed the weekend to ski White Pass. John the owner communicated early and clearly. Great cabin. Comfortable, private, and quiet. Would definitely stay again.
This cabin is cute and cozy, and located in the woods, but still close to town. It’s a great place to get away from the busyness of life and just relax.

The cabin is rustic and just what we wanted. The shower is small, but has plenty of hot water.
It's a 2 mile drive to the town of Packwood which has a few fun dining options and a great coffee shop. It's about 15 miles to the national park. The kitchen was well appointed. There was plenty of firewood and a nice firepit. Alas, after cutting much kindling, we discovered a burn ban and did not get to enjoy it. The communications with the host were excellent. We would stay here again.
We spent 3 days in Packwood at this cozy cabin celebrating our anniversary. We chose it because of its proximity to the national park. The check-in process was easy and it had all the basics thus allowing us to spend more time in the outdoors.
We found a spot on the calendar for a quick two-night trip to ski white pass with the kids. This cozy little cabin was just right. Simple, clean, easy access to Packwood and a quick drive to the top of the pass. We will be back!
This place is a little bit rustic, but has a ton of charm and everything you could need for a great trip to Rainier. All the necessities to make yourself a great meal, a fire pit to relax by, and great wifi too! Host is very responsive and helpful
Nicely set up cabin. We did some great hikes nearby and relaxed on the big comfortable couch in the evenings and drank coffee around the fire pit in the mornings (we didn’t make a fire) The WiFi worked great and we watched a couple movies on the big screen that was available.
Cabin was cozy and well appointed, exactly as advertised. We stayed two nights and booked full meals each night. It was easy to find and close to packwood which was convenient, but it was far from hey 12 and felt remote and “cabin-y”.
This cabin was absolutely perfect! It was cute, clean and had everything we needed. We stayed here to be close to Mount Rainer and to explore the local trails. It was great to be able to sit outside on the front porch at night. We also loved watching the elk just down the street. We had a great stay! Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!
This little cabin was just right, for a family adventure in the snow. The photos and description were accurate and the check-in was easy peasy. Thank you for opening your cabin to core memories for our family.
Enjoyed our stay in the cabin. You could tell it was a well used family property. Everything was adequate for our need. The upgrades were all very nice. Basic but comfortable.
Stayed 2 nights while visiting Mt Rainier. Cabin is very quaint with all amenities as needed. Very close to town and National Park. Great water pressure and heat for a relaxing shower after a long hike. Comfortable and quiet surroundings; beats staying in a hotel. Highly recommend!
This older cabin met the requirements of our short stay and was affordable. We’re a bit spoiled, so we didn’t quite fit in with the wilderness aspects. I’m sure those who go mainly to ski or enjoy winter sports will enjoy the cozy, rugged cabin.
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at this Packwood cabin. It was perfect to come back to and relax after spending long days in Mt. Rainer. The cabin was equipped with all the essential and then some, it’s close to town, hiking trails, and the BDR. Nights were super peaceful with the outdoor/indoor fireplace (wood provided), cold a/c, and an extremely comfortable bed with lots of blankets to keep warm. Thank you John for being an amazing host!
As a 54 year old man, I’m finally learning about self-care. My therapist strongly suggested a quiet retreat by myself. This cabin was perfect! Very quiet. Close to the cute town of Packwood. Plenty of great hiking and scenery all around. A great place to decompress yet plenty of activities nearby. Great value for the price I especially appreciated the fireplace and the firewood. Highly recommended!
This cabin was perfect for a weekend of destination relaxation. We made use of the full kitchen, cozy living area with big TV, and loved the 4 min drive to downtown Packwood. The only downside was that the bed was a little bit too soft for my partner, although I thought it was comfortable. Overall a wonderful experience and I want to come back during the ski season. Thank you!
This was a cozy little cabin. We had everything we needed for a longer stay. There is only a washer, no dryer. This was in the property description, but just wanted to make that known. Very quiet area. We could hear a loud neighbor down the road for a bit, but that did not disturb our quiet time at night. There was some clutter around the outside, but that was not a deal breaker. Nice spot to stay for a couple days.

Absentee owner/unresponsive relies on neighbors to fill in
The issues noted below were also written in the host's guestbook by other renters (and were not torn out yet)
1) Ants crawling all over the tub, numerous dead ants on the windowsills
2) Instructions to enter house had 2 different door codes in the email, that took a bit to figure out
3) Caretaker/cleaner (Beverly) listed in the instructions has not been under contract with the owner for at least 2 years. However they were very kind and brought us a portable heater for the bedroom. She said this happens every so often as the owner has not updated the information in a long time. VRBO said "heat" is not listed in the property amenities so they could not do anything for me.
4) The biggest issue I have is with a host who lives 2 hours from the house, sending outdated/incorrect information and unreachable to resolve even minor situations. VRBO was also unable to contact the owner, and at the time of this review no communications or apologies.
This property has potential, but until the owner steps up and makes things right, I would not recommend anyone renting this property.
The cabin was exactly as description! It was a perfect getaway. So cozy and inviting!! We didn’t want to leave! Great experience!

This tiny cabin is perfect for a ski weekend. It has everything that you need for a comfortable stay - cookware, bedding, towels, pantry basics, movies and games. It was cozy, easy to access, very comfortable bed, and a perfect place to land after a long day of skiing.
