Great family house!

Our family (with kids ages 1 - 9) traveled to Oxford, and this spot was perfect!! GREAT location — close to campus, the grove, and the Square!! The house was very nice - lovely furnishings and decor, all the necessities, and clean! We will be back to Oxford in the fall — and will be booking here again! Thank you for a great stay!

We loved our stay at "The Colonel." It is a beautiful home and was well furnished with all the amenities. The host was very gracious. The location is perfect. Easy access to all of Oxford and the university but also just far enough away to be nice and quiet in the evening. We felt welcome and super safe during our stay. We will definitely stay there again.

We used Colonel's Cottage as base camp while visiting Oxford and Ole Miss. It's proximity to the Square via N. Lamar Blvd and the University via Molly Barr Rd. made getting to where we wanted to be extremely easy. After long days around campus and downtown, the Cottage was nice to come back to. It felt like home away from home and was exactly what we needed. Highly recommended.

I normally wouldn’t write a review, but I feel it’s important to share our experience after being told we did not treat the property with care and respect. During our stay, we had an unfortunate accident that resulted in blood on several linens and towels. I reported this immediately and offered to cover the cost of replacement. The fee that was charged felt disproportionate to the damage, and additional criticisms were raised because the trash wasn’t taken to the community dumpster (which I could not locate) and there was food on a dishtowel. The owner even sent additional photos as justification for a premium cleaning fee, attached. Only two paper towels were provided at check-in, which made even basic cleanup difficult. The dishwasher did not release the soap tab, the microwave handle was cracked/loose, and the ice maker did not work. The sponges in the sink were used and had an odor, and several shower soap dispensers were empty. The bathmats were unpleasant, and only two bath towels were provided for a three-night stay. Outside noise and conversations were also easily heard inside the home. On a positive note, there was a small Keurig with plenty of K-cups. Make sure to screenshot your 8 digit passcode prior to checkin - cell service is limited. The house does resemble the listing photos, but overall it felt run down.
