"This was the second time I have stayed here. Always a great Northumberland welcome. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and it is a very delightful property to visit. Definitely out of the ordinary. Breakfast is second to none using good quality ingredients - none of you rubbish cheap sausages and bacon - this is good stuff. Homemade preserves too and]] very tasteful bread. Highly recommended."

The castle has a great gastro-pub just a 3-minute walk away in the village. Lovely cooked breakfast in the hotel, Ideal for a short stopover or to explore the area. "The room was fantastic with a bay window high up overlooking the street. It was well furnished with a very comfortable bed and we had a great nights sleep. The only downside was the bathroom which was 'compact' (not really a problem) but the shower did not work well in that that it never got beyond just above cold and had a miserable trickle of water. We spoke to staff before leaving and they were appalled that this had happened and were going to get it looked at. Overall, very happy to stay there again."
