Hotel BalcĆ³n de Europa

8/10 Good
"Great location. Friendly staff throughout our stay. Pool area was clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast offered a huge selection, fresh and tasty. Vegetarian paella was delicious but the set 3 course meal was disappointing. The starter did not have fresh tuna on the salad, the boiled vegetables were brown, not fresh and unappetising and the desert was nothing special."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Otivar?
The best area to stay in OtĆvar is within the village itself for a traditional Andalusian experience or in the surrounding countryside for a tranquil retreat.

OtĆvar village offers a glimpse into local life. It's a small, compact village with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses, and a few local shops and eateries. The village is located in the foothills of the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park, with the main church, Iglesia de la Inmaculada ConcepciĆ³n, at its heart. It's a place where you can enjoy the rhythm of Spanish village life.

For those seeking a relaxing holiday with easy access to nature, staying in the villas and rural accommodations just outside the village is ideal. These properties often come with private pools and terraces, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. It's great for couples or families who appreciate privacy and direct access to hiking trails and the natural park.
When is the best time to go to Otivar?
The best time to go to OtĆvar is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities.

During spring, the average temperatures range from 15Ā°C to 25Ā°C, making it superb for exploring the natural beauty of the area, such as hiking through the RĆo Verde canyon or visiting the local fruit orchards. The landscape is lush and green, and the air is fresh. This season is particularly good for families who enjoy nature and outdoor adventures, as the mild weather allows for comfortable exploration without the intense heat of summer.

Autumn offers similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 18Ā°C and 28Ā°C, and the scenery takes on beautiful golden hues. This period is excellent for couples looking for a relaxed escape, perhaps enjoying a leisurely drive through the Sierra de LĆŗjar mountains or sampling local produce at a village market. The grape harvest often takes place in early autumn, providing a unique cultural experience.

While summer (July and August) is hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30Ā°C, it's a good time for those who want to combine a stay in OtĆvar with beach trips to the nearby Costa Tropical, which is just a short drive away.
