About this property
The Apothecary Suite at The 1883 Guesthouse
- The spacious Apothecary Suite is part of the Star Block, an 1883 historic building in downtown Osage City, and draws its character from the late-19th-century drugstore and apothecaries that once made our building home. Vintage-inspired details give the suite a distinctive historical personality without sacrificing the comforts of a modern stay.
Curl up in comfort in the spacious bedroom with a large turreted skylight and a king bed. Prepare a feast in the huge kitchen, which invites socializing with a large island and counterop bar area. Or relax in the open living room, watching TV, chatting with family, or just lying back and letting the sun stream in from the oversize windows. At night, the living room sectional can turn into a queen-size bed.
Forty Barrels Coffee + Kitchen, a local independent coffeehouse and restaurant, is just downstairs and features a robust menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, not to mention specialty coffee drinks, craft beers and cocktails. You can also browse Horn & Ivory Books, also downstairs, for gifts or something to read. Or take a bike ride or stroll on the award-winning Flint Hills Trail, a nearly 100-mile rail trail that recently became a state park. It passes directly behind the building.
The suite is on the second floor and must be accessed by stairs. If you need an ADA-accessible unit, please book the Merchant's Suite.
