Place was amazing. The drive from Orvieto is slow narrow roads uphill for 30-45 min. Then full stop……….. the place is an incredible castle with amazing views and surroundings. Living back in ancient Roman days. What a castle and fortress. The staff were great. The grounds and views amazing especially sunset and sun rise. Dinner was incredible experience - big group dinner for all guests services on platters in an ancient dining area. 6-8 courses ( depending how you break it up) and very reasonable price for lots of wonderful
Local prepared food. - pastas and meats and chacquertie. Their own grown wine is very good and affordable. Breakfast was amazing and had so much variety of fresh and hot - healthy and comfort. The castle was quite something. Room had all amenities and nothing to complain about. Should we come back to this region - we would come back for sure. I write a long review as they are very important to me. Of you took time to read mine. This is a 10 of 10 place and you would love this place if what I say matters to you !
The hotel is quite far... but nice. The problem is they charged ne twice! I had paid with hotels.com and they insisted it was not paid... since I was on a hurry I paid again. Beware!! I hope they return the money. Have your reservation at hand so they don´t do that to you!!
Posto fantastico nella natura.. struttura medievale ben conservata e pulita. Vista fantastica.

I went there for my nephrew's wedding. Awesome location, spacious rooms, food was excellent and staff outstanding! My family and I spoke little Italy but the staff was very patient with us. I would go back again if I get the chance.
Wonderful experience to stay at this marvelous castle in Umbria. The setting was magical and the food and wine so great. It felt like we had stepped back in time. I’d love to come back.
It is off the beaten track on a small winding road from Orvieto so somewhat stressful to get there, but worth the effort! Magical location in a beautifully renovated castle that maintained the old elements and spirit while providing lovely modern comforts. Huge modern bathroom. Looks out over vineyards and a lake—gorgeous setting. Felt like we were transported to a private medieval village. One problem. We planned to have dinner there since the closest village is 10 km away. But it is a popular wedding venue and we were told upon arriving that dinner wasn’t possible because the restaurant was taken for a wedding. They really should find a way to accommodate guests on these occasions!! This must be a common and annoying problem. Was a long drive on dark country roads, but turned out to be a rather fun adventure. One must have a car to negotiate this venue. Now that we know the situation, we would definitely return if we are in the area and would love to take family.
We found the stay frustrating and disappointing. The room was hot, no ac, no breeze. The bed was hard. The pillows flat. The "included breakfast" begins at 8:30 which I have NEVER encountered a breakfast that starts so late. Of course we missed as we had to get on the road to catch a flight. The location is in the middle of nowhere. It is a 25 minute drive on windy roads from Todi and 45 minutes from Orvieto. It is a harrowing drive in the dark....
Other guests were very noisy long after we'd gone to bed, diminishing what was otherwise a lovely stay. Beautiful grounds and building, incredible customer service, great breakfast. Bed was a little stiff for our liking.
Assolutamente consigliato!
Gorgeous place hidden from the crazyness of city. We actually forfited a paid hotel in Rome to stay here after our cruise. Breath take views and great breakfast. Only negative was there is no a/c like in many old buildings in Europe. It did cool off at night enough to sleep very comfortable. Very nice staff. Would visit again.
