Betty's Place - Cozy ocean front getaway, Relax, Reconnect and Recharge on the Maine Coast
A wonderful place to getaway and relax. Fish, swim, enjoy the views from the deck or the rocky coast. Enjoy walks along the shore, or down to Lowell's Cove and exploring the area, nearby restaurants and shops. Star gaze at night and watch the moon rise, listening to the waves on the shore.
We have just added a new window mounted air conditioner in the window nearest the wood stove on the south wall! We have not taken new photos yet, but it should be plenty to cool the whole place and is pointed toward the bedroom to help with air flow. This should take care of those hot summer days where it is too warm inside, and not enough breeze to cool things off naturally.
We are happy to share this wonderful spot with you. Come enjoy the quintessential Maine coast experience.

We had a great time at Betty’s Everything one needs is there is this cozy seaside cottage. We will be back.
Orrs island is a gem and Betty’s is the perfect setting You should go there too.
I cannot say enough about this property. We thoroughly enjoyed the mountainy/forest setting in the front of the cottage and of course the beautiful ocean in the back. I felt like we were in the middle of a setting of a Nicholas Sparks Book! The cottage had everything we needed, and was pristine clean! And the local people are lovely. We will be returning!
Betty's Place is a simple, no frills stay with a million dollar view. The accommodations are basic but very clean and you can prepare a full meal in the kitchen. Well sited on gorgeous Orrs, Island there are many things to do a short drive from here but enjoying morning coffee on the private deck or star gazing over the water at night are really the highlights of this old school home. A rocky access to the water's edge was a little hard for two seniors to navigate but younger guests should have no problem. I would not recommend more than 2 people stay here at a time as it is a bit tight in space for 4 unless you had small children. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
We had a lovely time!!! The location and cabin were perfect for a quiet get-away for 2. We can’t wait to come back and hope to re-book for next year. Thanks so much!!!
The property was listed appropriately with a spectacular ocean view, comfortable sleeping and quiet surroundings. It is a perfect place to unwind, read, bird watch and fish. Watching the tidal waters come and go while enjoying the wildlife activity added to the entire enjoyment of this fine location. We will be back and the host was very helpful. I highly recommend this location if you need a peace and quiet getaway.
Wonderful stay! We enjoyed the deck and ledge beach so much. Very comfy, clean, and well-appointed cabin. The only thing we wished different was for a quieter refrigerator. But between its cycles, we could listen to the waves outside and all was peaceful and beautiful. Thank you!
Betty's Place was a great getaway for a long weekend. The views and ocean sounds from the deck can't be beat. We experienced an issue with the coffee maker, and David and the team responded right away and dropped off a replacement within about 30 minutes. We would consider coming back!
This cottage is perfect for stepping away from it all, yet providing all the comforts.
Provides easy commute to all the hiking trails and several local eats.
About what we expected, but my husband is 6’ 4” and the cottage has low ceilings, especially in the bathroom. We did admire the work that went into the cottage and we are born Mainers, so we were okay with the challenge!
In one word...views! We had plans to do many things but once we sat on the deck and then by the rocks, we didn't want to leave...ever. The moon rising over the water was amazing and the sunrises, spectacular.
The cabin is small which was fine for the two of us. The bathroom and shower are very 'cozy.' There is no AC which wouldn't have been a big deal except the windows only open a few inches out from the bottom so there isn't much air circulation and it made it kind of stuffy even for mid September.
It was rustic but clean and tidy. I would definitely go again, just not in the heat of summer. We climbed around the rocks by the water, watched sailboats and lobster boats. We explored the area. We had an osprey visit every day. Cormorants dived for fish. It was peaceful and quiet and so relaxing.
We were just in awe over the most beautiful sunsets and rising moon between the pines and over the water-spectacular! Betty’s Place was most accommodating and very clean. It was just a perfect escape-tranquil and serene!
We loved our stay. Cottage was as described. Fully stocked kitchen including nice knives, cutting boards, utensils, bowls, plates, mugs, pots, pans, lobster crackers, etc. It was also stocked with garbage bags, toothpaste, paper towels, toilet paper, etc so I would still recommend bringing all these items but it was nice to know it was there if you forget it. Very clean. Beautiful. Quiet. We were little confused when looking for the house but found ot pretty quickly. No beach towels so bring your own. No washer or dryer which is annoying but we did laundry in Brunswick. You can walk down to the rocks at the bay which was awesome. It says there's a beach within walking distance but no instructions as to how to get there. I think it was Lowell's cove for your information. We loved Harpswell and will definitely stay here again.
Orr’s Island and the surrounding area is beautiful! The cottage has a great view. Cottage is small but okay for 2 people. We visited a lot of attractions and hiking trails. Went to Erica’s for lobster rolls, walked the trail to the Giants Steps and visited the Botanical Gardens near by. We will definitely visit the area again.
