We all had a wonderful time at the farmhouse. It is roomy, open, very nicely decorated & well stocked in the kitchen. The firepit was perfect and we enjoyed both nights outside- meteor shower one night & northern lights the next. Definitely recommend it!!
The listing was very accurate and the house was beautiful! clean and comfortable! we enjoyed watching the cows in the field. The farmer even invited my kids to help feed a baby calf a bottle!! Adorable and so fun!
Our family (ages 9-74) had a nice stay at the Farmhouse before our excursion into Voyageurs National Park. It was a short drive to two of the VNP Visitor Centers. The Farmhouse kitchen was well-supplied and the beds were comfortable. It was fun for our grandkids to see cows in the fields right behind us and play with the farm dog Sully.
Even though the reason for our visit to the Orr area was to attend a family memorial, staying at the farmhouse gave us quiet, restful tranquility, which is exactly what we needed. We were so busy meeting up with family and friends, we didn't get the opportunity to use the patio or fire pit, but it would've made for a wonderful time. Beautiful home and the friendliest people you'll ever meet.
We had a lovely time at this farmhouse in the country. It easily fit our two families and we loved all the fun games available (corn hole, board games) and watching the cows and chickens. It had everything we needed and more, including spices, coffee, ziploc bags, lots of things you wouldn't expect even shampoo conditioner and body wash. It was clean, and very spacious and decorated very cute. Our host was awesome and we were able to purchase fresh eggs and she came to help us when we had trouble with the code (a little tricky, suggestion would be to include better instructions on what the submit/enter button looked like). Only other suggestion would be to add handsoap in the kitchen, otherwise perfect.
Tons of nostalgia here from my childhood, as my my grandparents had a similar sized farm and I had many fond memories there growing up. We stayed 3 nights and drove up to voyageur national park two days. Overall a great place for two families with young kids vacationing together.
Only two considerations for other travelers from my perspective. First, while it easily slept 4 adults+6 kids. Given the focus of our activities requiring bathing/showers every day, we were very short of hot water and had to be very strategic with scheduling our hot water use. Second, there were quite a few mosquitoes in the house even from the beginning, especially in the bathrooms. We quickly learned to keep the bathroom doors closed at night.
