Whale watching trip from pier at Akureyri. 3 hour round trip and spotted 5 humpback whales. At least 3 different companies offer these trips, about £64 GBP per adult. Wrap up warm as wind chill in August still biting. Picture taken with Nikon D5100 and Tameron 300 mm zoom lens on manual focus, auto flash off setting, shot in RAW.
Charming little town. Their stoplights are red hearts.
These two men were photographers at a local festival. They used a camera from the 1850s that had been renovated. The photos were on plates and took hours to develop, they men used dangerous chemicals like cyanide in the process. When the photos came out no one could believe how clear they were. It was hard to tear my eye away from the plates. They were real, simple and serene.
Went to a viking festival right outside of Akureyri, Iceland. It was on of the best photo ops during the trip. I have no idea where I was exactly but I was surrounded by beautiful mountains.
While driving back from Akureyri in North Iceland to Reykjavik, my friend and I found ourselves so overwhelmed by the sight of this beautiful mountain bathed in the Arctic light that we stopped the car, got out and silently stood and stared for several minutes. Then, I knew I had to take a photo of it, not only to remind me of this sight but also of that perfect moment. #Blue

Wonderful 3 night stay. The hotel was modern with an excellent bar and breakfast room/restaurant. Staff were polite and helpful. Ideal location. Close to harbour for boat trips and 40 minute walk along the fjord to the airport.
