House ok, host not so much

I like to reserve thru hotels.com because of all the frauds there is out there, however, this time it didn't go so smooth. This property is a townhouse inside a resort, managed by a third party, so I got an email from them, and then another one and so on, I had to give them my credit card info, pay a $400 deposit just in case, send photo IDs and a selfie, sign a leasing agreement and more. It was stated in the reservation that I had to pay a sum in advance and the rest at check in but I was charged in full all in the same time (without notice)... So the reservation process and communication with host wasn't that good. The house was clean and comfy and really well located. The cons were the towels (not big enough to cover a 4 year old) and the kitchen is not that well equipped to cook, only to eat.
