"Staff are really very nice. Room was modern and very comfortable. (Although there was a stain on the carpet).
Breakfast was good.
I wouldn’t recommend eating in the restaurant, staff were pleasant but poorly organised, and the food was mediocre at best."
"Things I didn’t like
Headboard quite worn which was a bit off putting.
Toilet didn’t flush properly but a small bucket was provided.
Toiletries were a bit hot and miss (and mix)
Clearly a lot of effort goes into the hotel and the staff are really good as was breakfast.
There is a large car park right outside the hotel with an overflow which is great."
"A really large bed and tv with plenty of choice . Blackout blinds and an extra fan to combat the hot weather .No real room service though and no on site staff to chat with, although plenty of info of who to contact for any issues . I found the room door lock fiddly at first but then realised that you have to run your fingers all over it to activate it and light it up. Once that happens then enter your code and you are in . Really good shower but the dispensers could have done with being topped...
"when we arrived and got are room in the bathroom there was a towel with human faeces all over it and we also got kicked out of are room an hour early to someone welcoming themselves in"
"Halifax Hall is an VERY unusual place, which left me feeling rather like a uni student all over again, at 64!!
A historic facade quickly gives way to a very modern ‘conference-based’ building, totally with a higher ed student-campus feel (student accommodation is adjacent!).
The room was small, but beautiful, with an amazing shower👍
The staff were remarkably friendly & helpful.
The breakfast was sensational!
Here’s to being 18 again & back to uni days😀"
"Family room - the room, beds and shower room all clean. Plenty of pillows with the option of firm and soft, duvet is a little small for the bed and the one on the sofa bed was also too small if 2 sharing, so you may need to request extra ones. Aircon is fab for the summer kept the room lovely and cool. Sofa bed is a tight squeeze for 2 children but bed has plenty room for 2 adults. Communal areas very clean and spacious although the dining area can get a little busy during the breakfast. As for...
"We loved our stay here. It was just what we needed a wholesome family night away. The food was amazing, the views spectacular and our cottage was very cute, clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
Definitely highly recommend."
