Nestled on the southern shore of Lake Superior, Jarven Hytti is a luxury experience at an affordable price. The private setting provides beautiful views of the lake and its pink-sand agate beach. Not your typical north woods cabin, the architect-inspired Finnish style beach house is spectacular. It comfortably sleeps 8 persons. And, the two modern ,tidy bathrooms comfortably accommodate its guests. A modern, fully-equipped kitchen , a large family room with a stone fireplace, comfortable bedrooms and fireplace on the deck all add to the cozy , functional, vacation home. Luxury linens and native dwarf lake irises round out a truly wonderful getaway setting. Off the beaten track, near the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness/ , Jarven Hytti is the perfect base camp for your upper peninsula / Lake Superior adventure. Spring and summer . Get cozy in front of the fire.

SUSTAINABILITY, THE WETLAND AND THE SHORE
JärvenHytti was designed with the input and approval of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Army Corps of Engineers. Every effort has been made to protect the adjacent wetland ( with its natural flora and fauna ) and the shoreline.

DOGS WELCOME. BUT, PLEASE REMEMBER THE DOG FEE. IT REALLY DOES REQUIRE MORE CLEANING TO MAKE JÄRVEN HYTTI SPIC ‘N SPAN FOR THE NEXT GUESTS.

Occasionally renters ask “why an additional nightly charge for each guest over the first two?” We are sure you understand , as with any household, additional residents add to the costs of operation. Scavenger services( charged by-the-bag), septic service( more pumping) ,laundry (sheets and towels) , utilities ( water, electricity) , cleaning services, general wear-and-tear and other overheads increase with the number of occupants. While most rentals are to groups of two, it would be unfair to price the basic nightly rate to prorate the additional costs associated with larger-group stays. Thank you for understanding.

Annual Three Sisters at the Big Lake trip

Wonderful accommodations. The large deck was great for morning coffee, bird watching and listening to Superior’s soothing sounds. We captured beautiful sunrise and sunset photos.

Perfect Lake Superior get away!

We stayed for 3 nights in this perfect little cabin. It was exactly what we needed, direct access to Lake Superior, clean, well maintained with great hosts! The location is ideal for exploring and day trips to a lot of different destinations.

We loved the gas fireplace, spacious kitchen with amenities, and the lakeside deck for afternoon and evening relaxation moments. A great place to use as a base camp for outdoor adventures or just to enjoy Lake Superior.

UP Winter Get Away

absolutely wonderful place. loved the simple wood work design, the beautiful cozy fireplace, the view, need I say more, the well appointed kitchen, lacking for nothing. the bed was firm and comfy. and location so close to the Porcupine Mts perfect in the winter for down hill skiing and cross country skiing and snow shoeing which we enjoyed

Awesome Lake Superior Stay

This is was perfect to celebrate my husband’s and mines 5th wedding anniversary. Right on the lake with fantastic views. The house is beautiful and very clean. Would definitely come back!

Offseason Getaway

My partner and I planned a quick birthday celebration getaway. The property was as described and very enjoyable. We found it to be quiet but not too remote. We loved the fireplace and the cozy vibe. It’s immediately apparent a lot of care, planning and love went into the home. The proximity to the Porcupine Mountains is perfect. There are so many options for destinations for day trips as well. We loved it and hope to come back sometime soon. Highly recommend!

Fabulous Fall Trip

This place is probably the best place we have stayed at! Close to the Porkies for every day hiking adventures! Fall colors were divine! Have already recommended this one to a few folks here in Minnesota for a great stay!

Beautiful UP getaway

Our family loved our stay! The home was spacious enough to give everyone room but we were able to gather together and have fun. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and the variety of offered suggestions and things at the home were great. Loved the beach access and the beautiful deck. The fireplace was awesome!
