This older house is just a short walk from beautiful Lake Superior. The air is crisp, clean and there is no better healing for your soul than to breathe deep and experience it’s calming presence. Host furnishes everything for a comfy stay, nice towels, soaps, paper products, firewood for beach campfire, even camp/bag chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped, I even found a rolling pin. The tri-clad bottom stainless pans are new…NOT scratched up teflon. There’s a brand new deck for relaxing on. The dining room table was huge enough for the four of us to work the 1000 piece jig saw puzzle and still eat dinner. The local IGA does sell fresh, locally caught Whitefish and lake trout, if you can’t catch your own. 😋 The lighthouse tour was well worth the $5, there are two stores selling locally made gifts and a nice rock shop. And we learned, you can find the fluorescing sodalite (Yooperlites) on the rocky beaches near Ontonagon. The folks in Grand Marais, MI say they are exclusive to their beach, ha ha. We hope to come back!
