The PERFECT a place to stay!!!
Beautiful accommodation across the road from the pub. We had a last minute booking and our host couldn’t have been more helpful… esp considering we had our 2 fur babies with us!!! Fully fenced property, very comfortable house!! Cannot recommend highly enough!!!! Will def stay here again on our next visit to this stunning part of Australia.

nice and cosy place !
The house is well located just 2 mins walk from bakery and restaurant. Nice view out from living room and front porch. The wood fireplace is a really nice touch in cold winter!

Lovely Dog Friendly Stay
We booked this lovely cottage as it was dog friendly and close to the snow. It kept us so nice and warm with the heater in the lounge room. The town has nice bakeries and everything is walking distance. If I ever go to the snow again I'd definitely love to book again. Thank you! Host also checked in on us and was a pleasure to have a chat to!

We had a lovely stay at the house however we were a little upset by the rat poison hidden under the master bed & in the kitchen. The house is listed as pet friendly but it didnt take long before our dogs found the poison. Luckily we saw it at the same time but it left us a bit nervous incase we had missed any. The house is in a rurual area so we understand rodents can be a problem but there a lots of gaps to outside that they can get through & there is a lot of rodent droppings at the back of the cupboards. This aside the house is lovely, cosy & otherwise very clean.

Hi Tara, We are sorry you experienced this and we are certainly relieved your dog did not eat any poison. We are big dog lovers. We do have rat bait boxes located under the bed and behind the fridge in the kitchen however they hold the bait very securely within the box, the bait is in a large block within this box that also requires a special key to unlock. We also take our dog up to the Omeo Miners Cottage and she has never been able to get to the bait. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I will check that the box has not been damaged or broken allowing the bait to spill out. Cozy family holiday cottage
We so enjoyed our stay at Omeo. The cottage was well equipped and warm with excellent heating and even a fire laid ready for us. It was an easy walk to explore the historic and quirky town of Omeo. Plenty of chi Drens books and toys kept our 3yo happy too. We,were an easy drive to the snow for snowplay also.

Family visit to Omeo
Our family enjoyed our stay very much. The house is positioned very close to shops and was clean and tidy. In addition to this, Mel had the place nicely heated for our arrival. Plenty of games to play in the evening and the shops are within walking distance so we were able to go for some nice walks and visit some of the local retailers. People were all very friendly.

A gem in Omeo
We really enjoyed our stay in Omeo as a stop over on our way to Dinner Plain/Hotham. The cottage is cozy and comfortable, a well equipped kitchen and gorgeous picture window in the lounge room. Plenty of hot water for showers and comfortable beds. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the front porch at dusk. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Miners cottage Omeo
Used Omeo as base to travel up to Hotham and Dinner Plain - about 50’ each way. Cottage well located and comfortable. Was surprised I could get Vodafone reception up there so that was a bonus. Town has bakeries and a pub for eating out. Will be back in spring or summer to try out the mountain bike trails.

Nice little cottage
Miners cottage is located in a wonderful area with a close drive to snow. Cottage is very tidy and cosy. We had a really nice time. Communation with the host was really easy too.

Perfect stay in omeo
We had an amazing time at the cottage. Perfect for our family of four. Very close to everything in town and the fire place kept us toasty and warm, as well as toasted marshmallows which the kids loved. Pump track and MTB tracks were fantastic - our kids didn’t want to leave. A short trip to dinner plains to see the snow was also a highlight and a more affordable way to see the snow with young kids. Pub meals were exactly what a pub meal should be - generous and moorish! The garlic cob at the Golden Age was phenomenal! Highly recommend Omeo and the cottage for other young families.

Lovely Victoria High Country Stay Away
Had a wonderful long weekend stay in Omeo which is about a 40min drive to the ski slopes. The property was clean and had a fireplace in the living room. Beds were comfortable and the owner of the property had good recommendations on where to eat in the local area. Would definitely stay again. Thank you 😊

Miner’s cottage in heart of Omeo
Cute little cottage perfect for a family stay including our dog, in Omeo. The cottage is in a perfect location as it’s walking distance from everything. We loved being able to have our dog with us too as the property is securely fenced. Thanks Melanie.

Wonderful country home escape
The house was presented in a very clean condition. Mel was friendly and easy to deal with. The location is great. Sitting out on the front porch overlooking the town , was a great way to start the day. The property was perfect for our dogs. Left them there during the day and had no problems.

Absolute bliss in beautiful Omeo
We had the most wonderful stay at Omeo in this beautiful little cottage that just oozes history. The position in town was fantastic and very central (close to the pump track which was a big hit with the kids!) and the house itself has everything you could need for a really comfortable stay. Really comfortable beds, beautiful warm fire that heated the whole house up and the most beautiful outlook over the town from the elevated front verandah. Mel was a fantastic host and her response to a question we had while up there was almost immediate, would very highly recommend staying here to anyone… we will definitely be back!!

Omeo bliss
Great stay and a quaint and very comfortable miners cottage, clean and neat with all that we could possibly need. Very close to all the town's amenities. The lounge with the open fire a lovely place to relax, with plenty of other heating to warm the whole house up. Our second stay here - great to be back again. Very friendly and helpful host and the townspeople are always happy to have a chat about the history of the area, while away some time and give some great tips about what can be explored in the area.

Just like home
Wonderful little cottage with an amazing view of town. was heated on arrival and very clean lots of room for dogs to stretch their legs. Amazing host Who responds quickly and graciously, fully stocked wood for fire,milk coffee and complementary whine. Was like home away from home, would highly recommend to dog sledders, prospectors, families and mountain bike riders!!!walking distance to technical mountain bike trails and Rivers with crystals

Perfect location to pop up to Hotham and also to pop down to the local for a nice pub meal. House was great and loved the hot shower after a day in the snow. Just a shame the fireplace was out of order. Highly recommend.

Tidy cottage
Comfortable accommodation for our family of 4. We arrived in the dark so it was a little tricky to find our way but the instructions provided by our host were great and allowed us to check in with ease. It was a little cold when we got in but it was certainly warm enough by the time we put the heaters on and went to bed. It's also a block away from the main road so it was walking distance to the Golden Age Motel for a great pub dinner.

Hi Amanda, thankyou for your review we agree about the bed and are pleased to advise we have purchased a new queen bed and mattress for the main bedroom, this will be delivered and set up on the weekend of the 17th of September. Great tip about the water, Omeo sure can turn on a good frost overnight in the winter months. We hope you will stay with us again.

This was our third stay at the Miner's Cottage and it never disappoints . With it's sweeping view of the Main Street and Mt Mesley behind from the balcony and the cosy interior with all the amenities you need this is the perfect spot to come and enjoy all that Omeo and the High Country has to offer.

Cosy little cottage
Had a great time with open fire and ample other heating options to keep warm as ambient temperature was between 0 & 5 degrees. Very clean and close to Main Street only 200 mtrs away. Plenty of firewood and all facilities and amenities were great nothing to bring. Would recommend to anyone wanting a hassle free break…Stuart

Wonderful break in Omeo
Loved Omeo - stayed in an old miners cottage, with all amenities for an extremely comfortable and relaxing stay. Great view from front deck and plenty of room for fur baby to play and explore in the yard - close to great cafe's and bakeries and a short walk to the pub over the road. Interesting little town with very friendly townfolk who were all very ready to talk to us about the history of the town. Had a lovely walk at Oriental Diggings track to the lookout. Would recommend all year round. All in all - fantastic! :) Sandrah

Beautiful cosy and clean cottage close to everything and with views of Omeo township and surrounding hills. We were in Omeo for work and unfortunately it rained our entire stay. Luckily the cottage was cosy and comfortable so it didn’t matter one bit! With a toddler and baby we couldn’t have asked for more - toys, high chair, portacot, and books galore! Everything you could possibly need for cooking was supplied. Out the back door and up the hill for a walk with the pram revealed amazing views of the gorgeous town of Omeo. Host was so easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful. Highly recommended!

This property was clean, cosy and right in the middle of town. The host is lovely and she checked all was well with our stay. We were close to meals, coffee and were constantly going on walks to the creek, up the mountain paths and around the shops. Being dog friendly with a big secure yard was the best thing about this property for us.

Great little fishing getaway
Stayed three nights at this Omeo property. Property is in a great position, near centre of town and within 100 Meters of Golden Age Hotel. This is a great little property for a short stay if you are fishing, walking or mountain biking. It’s well equiped and has everything you need.
