The Green Bach opposite beach- quirky and great for groups and families

Quintessential kiwi bach located across the road from a beautiful stretch of Omāpere beach, with a track opposite the house leading directly to the shore.
The two upstairs bedrooms have stunning views of the sea and dunes. Downstairs you will find the original 1960’s kitchen, a double bedroom, as well as open plan living and dining. There is also a small playroom and large chalkboard for the kids. This quirky bach was formerly a home, cafe, backpackers and windsurfing school and perfect for large groups and extended family holidays.
The large, fenced, partly covered deck is perfect for drinks or a BBQ on a balmy summer's evening.
The house is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful and historic Hokianga, with plenty of walking, water sports and sightseeing on your doorstep.

We love being so close to the beach, but we want to keep the sand there. Please wash feet and togs off into garden and no shoes inside please.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here, it was very clean when we arrived and just a walks away from the waterfront. The outdoor showers were very good as well. Would recommend booking here!

Perfect location in the Hokianga

A one night stop over to visit Manea Footprints of Kupe and Tane Mahuta. We were extremely comfortable had anything we needed and Sacha was great to deal with.

Great location

This was our second stay at Green Bach, and although it's nothing flash, there have been so many improvements since our last visit in 2018. Great place to stay with plenty of room and a very sweet cat.

Great bach in a choice spot.

Old style bach but with good upgrades and lots of space. Lots of windows to open to get a breeze going to cool things in the heat of summer.

Good location

Great location, spacious for a family. House was generally tidy but did have a fair bit of dust build up. Needs an update. Mattresses were not very comfortable. Easy access location and you can hear the water from the bedroom which was nice.

What a wonderful place!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Communication was superb and when we forgot towels (!) we were incredibly kindly catered for. House was perfect for us. Lots of space. Blackboard and kids toys provided hours of fun. Deck was lovely and cat a delight. We hope to be back. Thank you

Spacious, family friendly home

Awesome stay for our family. Kids loved the playroom with all the toys provided. Kitchen had everything you would need, spacious bedrooms & parking spaces. Lounge and dining area was great for our family of 8. Enjoyed the outdoor showers after the beach. The kids also loved to help out feeding the friendly cat. We look forward to booking again in the future!

Rustic realness

Kia ora, It was a pleasure staying here. Sacha was great on communication and polite and friendly. The house was plenty big enough for two couples, a kuia and a pēpi. Comfortable place for our club members to settle in to watch the election and All Blacks Rugby. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Fantastic communication with the owner. Appreciated.

Lovely spot but note outside shower

The bach is in a great spot across road and through some bush to a great beach, but limited harbour views due to trees across the road. The bach is comfy and kitchen well appointed. Nice to have a table big enough for pur group. There is a handheld shower over a bath inside with main showers in a lean-to outside. This was fine for our group and shower pressure was great but I imagine some might not like this setup. We arrived just after a big storm but the outdoor areas and showers were long overdue for a big sweep. Bring earplugs so you can sleep longer than the neighbours rooster! The owner was very responsive to queries.

Great NZ Batch Experience!

This is a great little batch in Omapere. Perfect for a batch-holiday getaway. Great location with a short walk to the beach and a 2 min drive to a 4-Square in Opononi. It's basic, but very livable. Be prepared that there is only really stand-up showers outside - but they are fine. The one issue we had was linens aren't included so you have to bring your own or rent. Renting was a little difficult as we were coming from overseas and the landlord would only accept a bank-transfer. Overall though, great place to stay!

Must stay for large families.

Awesome views from the upstairs bedrooms. Convenient for the little ones in the mini play area. Spacious lounge dining area. The decking was bigger than expected. If you like small, the kitchen is a perfect size still capable of preparing a feast. It rained during Christmas so we hung out on the deck most of our stay. 1min walk to the beautiful beach across the road. Having wifi and the tv already set to go with Netflix is an absolute bonus on our rainy stay. My kids were so happy to meet the cat who got plenty of cuddles and treats, they named it Omapere 😆 Thankyou very much Sacha for the wonderful stay, we would definately come back for another holiday hopefully in finer weather.

Hey sacha. My family had an awesome stay this time round. Just letting you know that there was a chair that broke on my son. I think the sun has taken its toll on the net chairs. Just thought id let you know as the other chairs may break on others in the future. My son was holding my baby when it broke on him. The house cleanliness is quite poor. Fridge had mold in the rubber seals, there were alot of dead bees that had fallen on the ground then i found a whole heap that started to wake up i managed to get them out though. Also toilet bins werent empty when we arrived. Basins didnt look wiped down. But apart from that our stay was awesome. Sacha youve been an amazing property manager. Awesome communication. And definitely improving issues as i seen alot of things had been restocked this time round. The floors looked like they had been re painted absolutely awesome stay. Love this house. Alot of the things i mentioned are just things to be wary of but easy tonwork around or just clean it up outselves which we dont mind. Again definitely we will be back awesome location, very accommodating, can host a family get together even. There is that many rooms. The outside showers are wicked for straight after the beach. My dad also enjoyed his stay which was his 1st time there. You have just won him overwith this place. He absolutely loved it. And wants to book here everytime we come up now. So again thank you Sacha

A Perfect Spot at Omapere

We celebrated a significant birthday with our twin daughters and other family members at the Green Bach and it was a perfect location. The bach was very well equipped and immaculately clean and tidy with everything we needed readily available and everything worked. What attracted us was the flexibility of the sleeping accommodation as we had a mixed group of adult daughters, partners etc and it worked out fine. We took our own sheets etc. Access to the beach was opposite if you liked a bit of a scramble but easier further down the road across from the fire station. The cat was welcoming and she proved to be a cuddly companion who wormed her way into our hearts. Books and jigsaws were available but beware... the jigsaw is a tough one and we think there may be some missing pieces. The covered deck is great for outdoor relaxing and the BBQ is a really efficient one. Yes, it's a little quirky but that added to the charm and if asked would we stay there again?... Definitely... good value for the money!
