We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this little gem of NZ. Location is fantastic for beaches and a short drive to the stunning Kai Iwi lakes. Has everything you need, to me a true blue kiwi batch.
Great Batch for our family stay. Our young boys loved the games and toys, it has all you need.

Listing should be updated to ensure accurate amenities (eg no towels or linen, washing machine available). Tv didnt work. No pegs provided. Not very clean, e.g. left over razor in bathroom, mold on curtains. Kitchen well equipped. Paper towels would have been helpful. Providing instructions re need for council rubbish bags prior to check in would be helpful. Beautiful breeze with open windows but some fly screens would be welcome. Space was very generous.

Great classic NZ batch stay.
Great location to rugged NZ west coast beaches and close to family friendly Kai Iwi Lakes. We had a great trip playing board games and roaming the beach and lakes. Thanks!
Felt right at home. Couldn't get to the beach (possibly due to tides) but Kaiiwi Lakes were a lovely surprise on a hot afternoon. Well appointed and comfortable

We had a good stay
We had a good time at the batch, very cozy. We brought a mattress topper for the beds. It wasn’t very clean but that was ok. We thought there was a bbq there as it was on the ad but when we got there we realised there wasn’t one but the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans so no big deal. all and all we had a really good time. Perfect location for the beach and lakes. Definitely stay again.
Overall a nice little place to stay, good little spot to get to lakes around the area. It was very hot during our stay and only had one fan in the house so it did get a little uncomfortable at night as the heat was a bit much. Make sure you pack enough towels for your stay as the closest laundry is in Dargaville. The kids had fun exploring the area and heading to the lake everyday.
Great location If you are visiting to see the Kai Iwi Lakes as it is close by. Bach nice and warm during the night, spacious lounge/ dining area and comfortable futon that could be used as an extra bed. Good oven with fully equiped kitchen.
Downside would be the misleading listing. There is no bbq, no ocean view ,tv doesn’t work and we contacted the host however this was not resolved during our stay. Poor cleanliness, mold on curtains, dirty shower basin, crack on shower slider etc. Not sure if this place is cleaned between stays. lawn/outdoor area was not maintained but this may have been due to the wet weather.
Seperate shower and toilet near front door entrance however the shower has no door just a curtain. We had to let everyone know not to use the toilet or front door during showers for privacy to change. Low water pressure and water would go cold.
Did not know we needed to get council bags for rubbish during stay, would be nice if these were provided given we bring all our own linen - towels, blankets, sheets.
Highly recommend to take photos/ videos at check in and check out and test everything works to let the host know. You should take a fan if you are going during a warm season and beach only accessible with 4WD unless you walk through stream however it’s contaminated.
It's a small town and the house is nice and cosy and simple. Kitchen was nice and simple and had all the things you needed. Bathroom and toilet was simple and tidy. Highly recommend you do groceries at Dargaville before coming here! Otherwise you'll end up eating out which isn't bad but a drive to anywhere.
Omamari is a very quiet place. The way to the nearby beach is close except you will get wet to get to the beach. Unless you've got a 4WD which looks like heaps of fun. Insanely quiet beach, but not suitable for swimming. Beautiful and long, perfect for a run.
If you're keen to just do nothing and relax and detox, this is a good place for it! No wifi, but there is TV. No washing machine but you could hand wash if you need.
The best thing was the night sky - stars were insane!
Easy check in and communication.
My family really enjoyed our stay here. Great location as the beach was within walking distance and the lakes were only a 10 minute drive. The place was tidy and comfortable with enough room to relax with a few different tables to do activities like games, puzzles or eating. We would definitely be keen to stay here again in the future.
We had a wonderful time at this property, enjoying the small village and beach. Lots to do in the area. Struggled with the oven but the rest was fantastic.
A great escape. A throw back to rural NZ on the wild west coast. The batch was simple but everything we expected. A great place to stay if you are heading to the lakes.
House was what we were expecting. Great location and we had fun at the beach. Oven was a fight, and the couch was rather lumpy, but otherwise a good stay.
Everything went well for our brief stay. Just couldn't figure out how to get the oven going. Great to be so close to the beach and the lakes. Bring sunblock!
