See thrilling competitions between top sporting stars at Seville’s huge Olympic Stadium. The vast arena opened in 1999 for the World Athletics Championships with a capacity of up to 70,000 seated spectators. It was during this tournament that the American sprinter Michael Johnson broke the world record for the 400-metre race.
Since its opening, the stadium has hosted many major sporting events, including national and international soccer matches, athletics tournaments and Davis Cup tennis matches.
The venue also stages rock and pop concerts by some of the biggest names in music. Among the stars who have entertained the crowds here are U2, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.

As you walk to your seat, marvel at the stadium’s immense size. View proceedings on the track, pitch or concert stage. You can also see what’s going on by watching the giant television screens.
Situated on the Isla de la Cartuja, close to the centre of Seville, the Olympic Stadium is well served by buses, taxis and trains. Alternatively, reach the stadium in a 15-minute drive from the downtown area. There is free indoor and outdoor parking available on-site.
While you are in the neighbourhood, take the time to enjoy some of the nearby attractions that are within 1.8 miles (3 kilometres) of the stadium. These include the Isla Mágica theme park and Espacio Metropol Parasol, a large timber structure with an archeological museum, market and rooftop walkway.
