Charming A-frame retreat in a beautiful, natural, and private setting
10/10 Excellent
"We selected the A-Frame at Cherry Springs for our recent stargazing trip, based on the pictures of the property and its location - only 8 miles from Cherry Springs State Park. Communications with the host were excellent; Noelle responded to my text messages within minutes! Check-in and check-out were both simple processes. I set my telescope up on the roomy deck and enjoyed multiple nights of spectacular skies! What's not obvious in the pictures is that the property is right next to PA-44... everyone drives with their brights on and the bright lights are an annoyance. The house was clean and is kept in excellent condition. We're a retired couple, both with a pair of knee replacements; we struggled with climbing up and down the steps between the main living area (with the big screen TV) and the kitchen. We visited Cherry Springs State Park, Austin Dam and the WW2 Museum in Eldred; I wasn't expecting much from Austin Dam and the WW2 Museum, but they were surprisingly good and very much worth the time. Be sure to feed the fishes in the pond; it's a zen thing. :) All in all, an excellent property in an excellent location! "
"The property was clean and the setting was perfect! We sat by the fire ring which was right beside pine creek. We saw an eagle on our first night. Then we hiked and rode our side by side all the way to Colton park. At the end of the day we relaxed in the hot tube. The host responded to all our questions in a timely manner and was very kind. We will be back! This was just what we needed. Ty Kyle and Patti"
UNFORGETTABLE TIMES...500+ ACRES, 3/4 MILE ON PINE CREEK!

"What an amazing place! The kids loved it and we all had a great time around the fire. FYI, if it's warm outside, talk around the fire from the chairs, but if it's cool outside, the giant fire pit is actually a warm seat and a small fire will be all you need. The creek was a bit low in late August, but still beautiful, and the surrounding grounds were spacious to be sure. The pond is very nice, and though we didn't catch any fish, a very large one did bend the rod almost in half. The location is near the PA grand canyon and most other area attractions - no shortage of hiking opportunities. The fireplace inside was wonderful and kept the house perfectly warm on cool nights. Be prepared for some confusion when walking around upstairs since there is a lot of symmetry, but this is more entertainment than anything. The kids were over in the game room most of the time playing pool or foosball, leaving the adults with unexpected relaxation. There's a TV in there as well, but it barely got turned on. The only slight complaint is that route 6 is not terribly far away on the far side of the river, but it's almost dead after 6 or 7 pm, which is when we were most likely to be at the fire pit anyway. Overall, it was a great experience. Thank you to our hosts!!"
"We had 5 adults and 1 infant and found this home to be spacious and clean with very thoughtfully stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The addition of a pack and play and video monitor was especially appreciated! The host was very polite and we'd definitely recommend, we usually go to the area for star gazing and were absolutely able to do that but the home is somewhat close to others on the property and the grounds are a little sloped so not as easy navigating in the dark with red light but otherwise an awesome stay!"
