place you must stop the night.

Brilliant place to go and stop a night. But Monday to Thursday they dont do breakfast so there is an place up the road that dose fantastic food all day long. One thing is the evening meal at the waggan inn is to die for.

Enjoyable stay

Very friendly staff & easy to check in. The room was clean & modern with comfortable beds. The bathroom was good & the shower excellent. The only problem was that there was noise from customers downstairs, doors banging & the extractor fans below. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay

Warm welcome and comfortable stay.

Comfortable room in a lively busy pub which has been refurbished very well. Good facilities and handy for an overnight stay. Booking on a room only basis food was available from the pub or a host of delightful and handy locations in the town.Would stay again.

Very Happy at the Waggon Inn

The Wagon Inn is a fantastic place to stay, full of atmosphere and interest. On arrival we were met by the lovely Laura, who obviously enjoys working in the hospitality profession and is very good at it. She insisted on carrying our bags up the rather steep staircase to the bedrooms, which are very clean. The mattress was super-comfortable, but about a foot thick, making it a bit high on the bed-base. Bedroom was very quiet and we slept very well. We ate there the following day and the food was very good and we were looked after by Michael, who presides over the bar and maintains a very high standard. My wife needed the food to be gluten-free and this was no problem. The location could not be better, with plenty to do and see within easy walking distance. Parking could be a problem during licensing hours, but we arrived late and there was plenty of space in the car park at the rear. We were there for a funeral, but if the chance arises, we will certainly return to enjoy the Wagon Inn and its picturesque surroundings.

Warm welcome, nothing was a trouble to please, well equipped room, food really good, busy pub certainly late hours. Just a couple of points perhaps some blinds at the window, a little open to the road and the opposite restaurant, also with it being November perhaps the heating should be on when a room is occupied against still being on timed settings.

A great stay in Uppermill.

This is a great place to stay in the middle of Uppermill. However this does mean there is road noise if you are at the front. These are lovely rooms though with lots of bonuses like bottled water, a coffee machine, iron and ironing board. Excellent food in the restaurant..

Great location, clean and comfortable

Looks like this has been refurbed - nice decor and bathroom. The hotel is on a Main Street so there is late-night noise from outside but this is to be expected. Very nice staff, most helpful

Excellent food, drink & staff/service

Lovely pub/inn where staff could not do enough for you. We ate breakfast and dinner. In both cases the food and service were superb. We stayed over a Saturday and Sunday nights. Obviously this popular venue does not go quiet until after the pub and nearby bars close. It didn't matter to us, we stayed up and had a few drinks too! While we were there the inn had a technical issue which affected us directly. These things happen but to their credit the management resolved it to our complete satisfaction. Breakfast is not available Mon-Wed but cafes are all around.

Perfect B&B, friendly staff

Perfect accomodation, comfortable, spacious and clean. Friendly staff. Good food. Only one minus point: the wifi signal in my room was too weak. I had to go down to the hall. But I was friendly welcomed to sit at a table with my laptop.

Pleasant overnight break

Good quality and well maintained Pub / Restaurant. Spacious and comfortable room. Restaurant food quality excellent but be sure to book. We only managed to get a table on chance. Breakfast is a separate transaction and not included with room rate. It is optional, which may suit some. I recall breakfast time started quiet late so maybe not ideal for the business traveller or those wanting to be up and out early. Overall, a pleasant and recommended choice.

Masters Rugby League 10th Anniversary weekend

What a great place to stay!! We arrived just after evening kitchen service had finished. However, we were offered sandwiches which was a real help! The separated restaurant area is quiet away from the lively bar area although all tables were full. The deco is pleasant and light and there is a pleasant decking smoking area at the rear. Parking is limited but we did find a space behind the hotel in their private car park. The room was a delight. Coffee machine provided and very comfortable bed. And good wifi. Very good place to stay.

Waggon Uppermill

Room clean, comfortable bed and nice shower. Carpet fraying and a bulb was out in the chandelier. Quite disappointing that there was no option of breakfast or parking reserved for guests staying in the pub. Had to park quite far away. Also as it was a bank holiday there was no where open to get breakfast.

Pub was lovely and décor first class! even had a coffee maker in the room, do book a table though as we made that mistake and had to eat elsewhere

Great hotel shame about the breakfast (see review)

We stayed here for our wedding on the 12/13th August 2017 and the pub and the hotel is great... having been here before for drinks I can say it's really nice, the time we stayed wasn't any different apart from there was an issue with the electrics so we wasn't able to have breakfast in the morning which was a real shame and as a result one of the chefs were made to clean the gutters out which happened to be right by our room (he could look right in) and he was very loud and swore a few times... that wasn't the issue the issue was it was at 9am so not a great way to wake up!
