"Great place to stay right at the end of the bus route that crosses the islands. Really good restaurant (especially for fish lovers!), super friendly and helpful staff, convenient for the Pentland Ferry - what’s not to like !"

"This hotel is spotless. The staff are very friendly. The staff that clean and look after the rooms do an exceptional job.
The restaurant staff were always cheerful even under pressure. The Italian lady on Saturday morning was a delight to meet.
Saturday and Sunday evening Des and Dan ran it so smoothly. They were so welcoming and attentive. Excellent service. The breakfast was excellent. Great choice of buffet and excellent coffee. The hot breakfast is freshly prepared, not on the buffet. There is a list to choose from.
The restaurant food is excellent quality. Five star chefs 😊
The Superior deluxe room was spacious. There is a kettle with a lovely selection of teas and coffee. Oat milk and semi skimmed milk sachets. A decanter of cold water and glasses.
The bathroom was clean. The towels super soft. The dispensers for shampoo and shower gel a bit hit and miss. The hand and body lotion has a light fragrance.
The sink surround is too close to the toilet. I hurt my elbow. The shower is over the bath. The screen needed to be pulled into the bath before stepping out. It wouldn’t be suitable for unfit people.
Unfortunately the iron was dirty and leaked. The ironing board was good.
The hairdryer was good.
The room was light and airy with a balcony. The bed was super comfy
It was a long weekend stay, thoroughly enjoyable .Thank you to all"

"Hotel was clean and comfortable. Right next to the main road and across the street from the harbor, but the noise wasn't an issue. Not a great many choices of bars/restaurants in Kirkwall, so having a bar and restaurant in the hotel was helpful. Restaurant is very nice, though you can order in the bar as well. Wifi didn't reach the bar or our room above the bar, but the lounge had good reception. Very walkable to shops, the cathedral, and the palace/castle."

"A perfect location for a week exploring the northern coast of Scotland. Cosy home with all the facilities you could need, along with a path taking you straight on to the shoreline. Bliss."

"My husband and I had the best experience at Sarah’s VRBO. From all of Sarah’s prompt communications, to her directions to help us find her place, to suggestions on where to eat and buy food- we couldn’t be happier with our stay. Sarah’s place was quiet, rather remote (but what we needed after several hectic days of travel) and well situated for seeing the sights around John O’Groats, Thurso and the North Coast 500. Sarah is above and beyond one of the best hosts we have ever encountered on our travels (staying at VRBOs). My husband and I look forward to staying at Sarah’s VRBO again in the future only for a longer period of time."
