Adorable town with great amenities. Really close to all the attractions. Pretty staircase. Well appointed kitchen. Good water pressure. Comfortable beds. Thin towels. Lovely porch. Train, roadway and fire station are noisy.
Stayed for the weekend to celebrate son’s surprise proposal. Not much open in the winter, so house was ideal for hosting her family for lunch. Son’s golden retriever stayed with us too. With no leaves on the trees, nice view of the river.
Worked perfectly for our friend group of 6. Within walking distance of the falls, hiking and restaurants in town. We loved the covered porch and deck areas! Wish we had more time to use the hot tub. Highly recommend!
Literally in the middle of town. The deck is super nice and over looks the park and river. The upstairs loft area was super fun for the kids. The home has lots of cool details and charm. Only down side was a mouse running around the kitchen at night but that didn't cause us much bother. Definitely would stay here again
House was as advertised and a great place for our medium sized group to stay. It is literally right in the middle of a small downtown area. Unfortunately, there was only a single restaurant open during our stay (I assume due to the season and cold), but you could tell it's probably a fun environment to stay in during the summer (they have white water rafting right there, ice cream shop, pizza place, etc). We used it as a home base for skiing at Seven Springs, and loved our stay there and the available hot tub. Would love to come back!
Great Victorian home and property. View was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. Smooth check in and check out process.
One improvement suggestion is to make hot tub easier to access. We weren’t able to unlock the hot tub unfortunately and had been looking forward to using that amenity.
Went for a girls hiking weekend ! House is very spacious and really loved the two level porches! We were able to walk to most of the hiking trail heads so the location is great. Would have appreciated a few more amenities such as dark & pepper and also the tub upstairs looks really really dirty but perhaps it’s just stained from use and it’s time to be replaced. The hot tub was an added bonus!
Enjoyed a weekend away with friends at this house. Nice space, great location in the center of town. The hot tub was a nice perk. The house itself is as pictured, but it's a bit tired in places and could use a refresh. Also, it was on the sparse side - no rugs in the bedrooms, little décor, and no kettle for tea! Otherwise, a nice place to stay and explore a lovely area.
We had 9 family members in our group ranging from 4 to 63.
It's a beautiful old home with very ornate woodwork through out.
Very roomy, and comfortable.
The location is 100% perfect. The front porch faces the water, late at night or early mornings you can hear the water rushing over the waterfall. The property manager responded immediately to any questions.
We will definitely stay here again when we return to the area.
We had a great weekend stay at the River House. Location is simply excellent, essentially in walking distance of several cafes, restaurants, bike/boat rentals and trails including the GAP. The house is historic and unique, yet comfortable with most modern amenities. Very cozy for an autumn stay. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, the hosts were proactive with communication prior to the visit and responsive to questions during our stay.
we had a lovely time. We enjoyed the amenities of the house and the town. Would definitely come back. Only suggestions are seeing if you can find a way to fully close the bathroom under the stairs from the inside of the bathroom, and providing more than single ply toilet paper
Clean, beautiful woodwork, functional, central, good communication. Paperwork is a bit over the top and water smella a bit like sulphur. Overall would highly recommend.
Great place in the heart of Ohiopyle. Wonderful porch view of the rapids, walking distance from food, shops and the GAP trail. Clean and updated kitchen and baths plus hot tub to soak away the aches from a day on the trail.
