We stayed here for 3 days in October 2021 and absolutely fell in love with it. My wife and I stayed in two bedroom suite with our friend and enjoyed every moment of it. Bedrooms are private and fully separated with a common living area and a balcony. It is perfectly design to have a rest, and a great living area in between to hangout and socialize. The hotel is very nice, cozy and clean. It is uniquely designed having each room and floors representing different themes. The staff was friendly, very helpful and absolutely amazing, shout out to the team, especially Alex at the receptionist area, Irina, Oksana the manager, and Alex who gave us a ride to the train station and airport. Hotel is conveniently located for activities and restaurants right in the city center of Odessa in a walking distance to the historical Potemkin's stairs, Opera, Privoz, Deribasovskaya Str, gardens. While staying there, we highly recommend to visit restaurant Kumanets with such a delicious Ukrainian cuisine ($) and Oblako ($$) with a beautiful 360 degree view of Odessa and sea port. We highly recommend it - you will not regret!

It was our first time visiting Odessa, and we did not want to stay on one of the busier streets. We wanted something private, yet close to the old city center. Basically, we were trying to avoid all the touristy crowds. We chose Frederic Koklen Hotel and loved it! It's located only one block from the main street and within maybe a 10-min walking distance to Deribasovska St. The hotel is old-style glamor but with modern amenities - it does not feel old. It's clean, private, and glamorous. Both of our rooms were lovely; bathrooms were gorgeous. Chocolates on our pillows were a sweet and appreciated surprise! We dined in the restaurant twice - once for dinner and then later for breakfast. Dinner was great - yummy food and fast service (for Ukraine). Breakfast we loved just as much, if not better. Coffee was excellent (we got 3 each!) and all the food was delicious. It was really a home away from home. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice hotel, good location

We stayed for 3 nights in this very historic hotel. The service was pretty good and the staff had good English skills. Both seem to be very rare in Ukraine. Everything was perfectly clean, after some adjustments the AC was working (also rare before June here) and the breakfast was fine. The breakfast service could've been a little bit better, most things were not refilled without asking for it. We still don't know if it was possible to get coffee from the "good" machine as nobody was offering coffee to us. Still, that wa the best breakfast we had in Ukraine (4 hotels in 4 cities), We will definitely come back on our next visit to Odessa.

A Welcome Haven

Located in an opulently restored building close to the main tourist area, Fredric Koklen Hotel is a very pleasant place to stay. The upgraded room was large and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful.

It was just a shame that no milk was provided with the tea and coffee tray. We had to keep going over the road to buy it. It was pretty annoying to be given fancy sweets in a presentation box - which we didn't want - but no milk for tea.

Fredrick Koklen hotel

So sorry not to be staying longer. Everything was first class. Had organised through the hotel a transfer from airport to hotel. Taxi driver waited for more than an hour after expected time of arrival as our luggage seemed to take forever to appear on luggage belt at airport. Having checked in at reception we were then told our luggage was now in our bedroom. Staff in all areas could not have done any more for us.
