Took our kiddo for a quick weekend trip. We stayed in the Medieval cottage. They really did a great job with the decor. Felt like our own little castle for e few days. If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Ocean Shores I definitely recommend Shorebird Villas. We will definitely be back.

The place was clean. Suppose to be no pets. The upstairs stunk like cat piss. The condo next to us had a dog.The couches we not comfortable to sit on at all. Just glad we did not spend alot of time in the condo.

Thank you for taking the time to write a feedback for us. We apologise for the smell that you encountered. However, we can assure you that a few of our other reviews also have mentioned cat piss smell which is nothing but the smell of salt deposits since we are very close to the beach. In order to counter that smell, we have installed air purifiers along with room freshener on the wall. However, since the second floor has more furnitures due to the beds and enclosures the smell usually gets trapped around that location. I can assure you that this is not a pet friendly villa and we don't have families with pets that visit this villa. We have reserved this villa specifically for guests with pet allergies. The villa next to this one is our Hawaiian villa which is a pet friendly villa and families with pets visit that villa. We are sad to hear that you did not like our couches which have been thoroughly tested by us prior to putting them in the villas and we have received countless positive reviews from guests about our couches. We will go ahead and quality test the couch again in order to ensure that we can maintain the quality of sofas we offer to our guests. We are sorry to hear that you faced a lot of inconvenience during your stay. We wish you had reached out to us during your stay as our customer service team would have been happy to relocate you to one of our other properties according to your need and comfort. We hope to have another oppurtunity of hosting you sometime in the future where we can offer you a much better experience than the most recent one.

The Hawaiian Villa looks just like the photos. It was nice and roomy and very colorful. I would most definitely stay here again.

We will definitely be back next summer. My daughter absolutely loved the villa and property/toys around it. I loved how private and tucked away they were but close to everything. Communication was always fantastic and the decor was really fun.

A little off the beaten path, but definitely a different experience than staying in a hotel or inn, not your typical road trip stop. This Egyptian themed villa is unique and comes with a selection of Egyptian themed movies, pretty cool!

Thank you for your review. We wish you have contacted us during your stay for assistance with TV. We could have sent a housekeeper in to reclean if there were any unpleasant smells. We do not have a caretaker or a dog living onsite - it must have been another guest's dog. We also could have contacted the guest if the dog was hostile towards other people. Sadly we have not heard from you during your stay, we hope you will give us another opportunity to host you in the future.

Thank you for your review Poonam. The villas were built in 1965 and the wood tends to acquire a smell once in a while, due to the salty air. We have a large air purifier upstairs that effectively removes that. It's the big black box on the floor.We hope to see you again.

First stay in Ocean Shores
My family had an amazing time staying in the Pirate themed villa this last weekend. We loved the fun décor and the knickknacks throughout. The management was very prompt with any questions. The whole villa was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We look forward to trying out some of the other themes in the future.

10/10! Was one of the best out of town stays we’ve ever had. Super clean, quiet, and comfortable. Makes you really feel at home. There was board games which was perfect for some well needed family time with our teenagers. Would recommend to anyone and can’t wait to go back and stay in another unit!

This property was just what we needed for a short getaway to regroup. It was close enough to walk to the beach, it was quiet, it was very clean, and completely relaxing which is what we needed. In fact, we want to bring the kids back with us next time for a weekend family getaway.

Perfect location for a cozy stay
If you don’t mind a hands free check in/ check out this place is perfect. About 10 minutes walk to any place in town and 15-20 minutes to the beach. Inside was cozy and comfortable. Kids loved it and having a private room for parents was nice and peaceful. Looking forward to staying at the other themed rooms.

This is a great property for families. Lots of space for kids to play and it is fairly contained so that you can feel safe with your kids playing in the courtyard. It would be perfect for a group of friends with kids to rent out and then hang out together, extending your space by using the courtyard. We stayed in the Pirate Villa and it was clean and had lots of fun details to make you smile - like a skeleton pirate hiding in the closet! Lots of fun. Also, close to the convention center, putt-putt golf, go carts, little shops, and the beach.

I really liked the different themes for the villas. I liked how there was a place between all the villas where the kids can play safely and adults can sit outside. It was safe and very nice.

Fun, charming place to stay.
Really enjoyed the stay, super close to beach access, comfortable beds, clean, and fun to look at all the details of our themed villa. The exterior area was showing wear, but fits right in with Ocean Shores.

Great location & good for families with kids.
We stayed here for 7 nights. Liked multiple beds (hard to find). Great location & able to walk to a lot of locations, including the beach. All the workers were really friendly & helpful if there was a problem or question. Beds upstairs are good. Great location for young children. For our long stay living room not super comfortable. Lots of decorating, and some of it needs cleaned or removed, (decor attached to ceiling) especially in kitchen & dining area. Very dated (old) kitchen & bathroom. Would return, but for shorter stay, 2-3 nights.
