Ideal location right on beach. Place was clean and had all the amenities. The deck and walkway to beach are not 1 -2 year old friendly, but other than that we had an awesome time.
This is our second time staying at the Ocean View. We love the house, just the right size for our family. The location right on the beach is perfect. Definitely recommend!
This property is very well maintained, with all sorts of amenities. Restaurants and shopping is very close. I would not hesitate to take my family back here.
The house is very clean! Very close to the ocean! And the host was very courteousl! Very nice and helpful, didn't mind all my questions and answered right away. Will stay here again without a second thought!
We had a wonderful time here! The location is perfect. The house is as described and well stocked. Communication with the owner was top notch. The internal walls are a little thin but that's to be expected with older homes.
Loved this house, it is so cute and very clean. The owner was amazing about communication and we had a great time. Only unexpected we had was the 2 twin beds. They're more roll away cots, which wasn't a huge issue since we had real beds for everyone staying the whole week. But they will be against the main beds if you try to put one out in the bedroom. And adults may not be comfortable on them. Would definitely stay here again!
Great experience. Owner was in contact with us before and during our stay to make sure we had what we needed. Everything with the actual property was great from location to the actual pots and pans to the beds. Will stay here again if available next time we come to the beach.
The house is dated but very clean and comfortable. The TVs could be larger. The location was perfect and the kitchen was very well stocked. We would stay here again!
We had a fabulous family vacation in Ocean Isle. Home was located right on the water and close to everything we needed. We will surely be back! Plenty of space for 3 couples and a baby ❤️ and a very well-stocked kitchen!
Nostalgia is the order of the day in this oceanfront cottage, and the coziness plays right into family fun times. Updates include smart amenities and upgrades everywhere. Perfect vacation for us! Thanks Steve!
Quaint, original ocean front (since Hurricane Hazel) wonderfully maintained with updated appliances and clean as a whistle. Had absolute delightful time with family and old friends dropping by. Not a lot of room, but plenty enough, since the Atlantic Ocean is in the backyard.
Very comfortable and good location! Steve our host was very accommodating and thorough in his communications. Nothing fancy or elaborate. Could use some upgrading. WI-FI is particularly weak.We likely would be willing to return.
This was our first visit to this beach. We even met the owner because he was making a repair the day we started our stay. The cleaner had an emergency and he drove all the way from the western part of NC to clean for us! The beach is small and everything is accessible. The cottage was great!
This was our 2nd trip staying at Ocean View on OIB and it was even better than we remembered the first time! The owner is very easy to work with and the home is perfect for our small family of 4. We find the home to be in good shape, clean, and exactly as described. You can’t beat being right on the beach and sitting on the porch listening to the waves at night! We will definitely be back for a 3rd trip in the future!
My family of 4 came down for a long New Years weekend and did nothing but relax, eat good food, and walk on the beach! We’ve stayed at the Ocean View several times now and always have a great visit. The home is clean, in good shape, and comes as advertised. And not to mention, right on the beach! The communication with the owner is amazing and he makes sure you know/have everything you need before you arrive. There’s no doubt, we’ll be back again!
Guessing our 8th year staying at this same house. It is one of the few remaining original houses ocean front on the island, it has that old island feel. We love the location and it is ocean front, walk out the back door, short walk through dunes maybe 80 feet and on the beach. The homeowner is amazing everything is always in great shape. The island has a lot to offer, putt putt, new park for the kids with splash pad and kids zip line., Good places to eat. Pier for fishing. Don't miss the Tuesday farmers market and Friday party with live band at the park.
We had a great stay at “Ocean View.” The cottage was as described. There were 7 of us and the space was tight but we spent our days on the beach not inside. The rental was super clean and had all the necessities. The house is a typical Carolina cottage, a bit on the smaller side, but adequate for beach lovers. The location was close to the pier and a public access so the beach was crowded. We suggest setting umbrellas up early and claiming your spot. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the cleanliness.
The house has a very beachy look & feeling to it. Nice selection of sand toys & adult beach games and a few extra outdoor chairs. No closets but a place to hang clothes in every room. Big fridge. Nice clean & big outdoor shower. It was a bit of a challenge to walk up over sand dunes at end of board walk. Public access 1 house over with boardwalk all the way to the beach. We all had fun.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Ocean View! This was our first time in OIB and we loved this house’s location. You can’t beat the direct beach access! Our kids loved the new community park just down the road. This house met our family’s needs and we had a comfortable stay. It was clean, kitchen had the dishes we required during our stay, & all appliances/AC worked well. We appreciated the clothesline & pins to dry our things during the week as well as the deck hose/shower to rinse off. This was a cozy little house and we couldn’t have asked for better communication from the owner. We read reviews before we came and can see why people return to this home and rent repeatedly from Steve. We hope to return to OIB in the future and would love to stay here again.
Been coming to Ocean Isle Beach for nearly 30 years, usually two or three times annually. Wish I’d bought a place years ago, before prices got crazy, but, alas, fate has made me a very experienced short-term renter. This was my first visit to the Ocean View. After four nights there during my favorite month (October), it will be the very first place I check when planning future trips. The Ocean View is an older, traditional-style beach cottage (open kitchen and living room in the middle, two bedrooms and two baths on each side, lots of wood paneling). The obvious highlight is the beachfront location at a comparatively reasonable cost, but I also appreciated extra touches like the updated appliances, new flooring, the grilling area with ash pit, and, last but not least, a great-sounding stereo with CD player. I loved being able to stow my phone, with all its interruptions, and instead of streaming, play CDs I had brought after seeing the stereo listed in the home’s features. Steve was an extraordinarily communicative, friendly, and helpful host, even texting me that the cleaning crew was finished and I could check in 45 minutes early. Great guy. In sum, there are fancier, newer accommodations on the island, if that’s your thing, but this comfortable, lovingly maintained place in an impossible-to-beat location is a truly special find. I didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return.
