    Enjoy spectacular million dollar ocean, inlet, and island views from the front deck! Clear views of Holden Beach and Oak Island across Shallotte Inlet, too! Close enough to the ocean to throw a football into the surf at high tide. Sweet Carolina Cottage is a well kept, older beach cottage that enjoys the same unobstructed views as an oceanfront home. There is a street in front of the house, dunes, sandbags, and then the beach! Beach access is a hop, skip, and a jump out the front door and down to the Columbia Street public access!

    If you are looking for modern and/or the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach, this is not it! This cottage is the 5th house from the east end of the island on a dead-end street. Not much traffic. Great for walking, running, biking, fishing, sunning, and relaxing! Something to do for everyone! Although it is secluded and relaxing you will find all of the amenities right at your fingertips! Shopping and restaurants are just minutes away and there is a awesome homemade ice creamery just down the street, as well as play ground for the kids!

Wonderful cottage!

We loved our stay at Sweet Carolina this past week. The location can’t be beat with practically ocean front views and a short walk to the beach. The cottage offered everything we needed, and was comfortable. There were a few things in need of simple repair but nothing that affected our stay negatively. Would happily stay again!

There were a few issues upon entering the beach house but once the owner was made aware of the situation she immediately responded in a positive way. It was an enjoyable stay with great views of beach and comfortable accommodations. Would stay here again.

I just want to say that, even though this was done during a very cold Winnie, time of year, the location, the view, and the property was so inviting and so comfortable that we all had a terrific time. The host were so accommodating and took care of any Need or anything we asked they were just terrific. I would definitely stay there again.

We go to OIB almost every year and this was our favorite house! The view is amazing, seriously can't beat it. My extended family was jealous and they had an oceanfront house. Highly recommend, we will definitely be renting again. 😍

1st birthday celebration

Part of my family went to Ocean Isle for my youngest grandson celebration. This is a very nice house, clean, comfortable (for up to 10 people) and location at the end of the isle is a plus (much less crowded). We felt welcome by Jennifer (the owner) and have no complaints. I wish there were EV charging stations on the island (one of my sons and I drive EVs).

We like the location. Love this beach. The house was not very clean. There was mouse droppings on one of the beds. We had to wash all of the blankets. The floors where sandy and so was the couch.

Need more cleaning couches were sandy and the was lottle roaches in the bathroom behind the warmer..I left the house cleaner then i got it..But all and all its a beautiful home and great location..

Beautiful views

We spent spring break here on the ocean. We took our teenagers. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate at the house often. The kids loved riding bikes daily to the Drift coffee shop. There’s a lot to do on the island. We enjoyed long gorgeous beach walks and the sound of the ocean every day. It was so peaceful. Jennifer is great to communicate with. No problems at all. Beautiful space. Photos represent the house accurately. Enjoy your stay!

Great Location

Overall just OK! Front door had no glass in it which was an eyesore and safety issue. Inside was pretty clean. Outside landscaping looked horrible. There were bugs found in the house. Basically house was old and needed updating.Outside deck had loose boards. But the view of the ocean was fantastic!

Very Nice!

The house was clean, well appointed, and in the condition advertised. The view of the ocean from the front porch is spectacular, and the beach access is less than 100 yards away. Having access to beach chairs was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed. The only negative was the pavement under the house was covered in a half-inch (more in some places) of sand from Hurricane Betty, as we arrived a couple of days after she passed through, but obviously, that isn't the owner's fault. It took me a couple of hours with a shovel to clear the sand downstairs, which I didn't want to do on vacation, but the cold beer afterwards was might tasty!

Overall a nice stay, however the house was not very clean when we arrived. The lights downstairs and on the back porch do not work, which made night time activities impossible. The living area was not even large enough for our family of four, though the house says it sleeps 10. Landscaping needs a lot of work, it looks awful. Location and access to beach were great as were the ocean views.

Great location, could use some cleaning

This was our second time renting this property. We absolutely love the location of this house and the floor plan works great but the condition and cleanliness of this house has gone downhill over the last year. The house looks like it hasn’t had a deep clean in a very long time and really could benefit from one. Also, the queen beds are in terrible shape- one had a broken leg that had been taped together and the other sounded like it was about to fall through to the ground. Another thing that needs immediate attention is the large mice family that is living in the front yard. We’d love to book this property again but these items would absolutely need to be addressed first.

Good house for large family

House was an older home. Paneling was coming loose in some areas, but overall the house was clean and nicely decorated with beach vibes. Great floor plan for our family of 5 adults and 5 kids. Loft over the kitchen area is open to the living area and was especially enjoyed by the kids. I was naive to think we could walk directly across the street to the beach because the description mentioned the nearby public beach accesses. There is a house directly in front of this house which blocks the ocean view, but the lot to the right is vacant and there are no houses to the left, so we did enjoy ocean views. One of my favorite pass times was sitting in the rockers on the front porch. Overall, my family and I had a great time.

Beautiful location, house very messy

We loved the location of the house. It was at the very end of the island on a dead end street. It was very private and just a short walk to the beach access. Lots of parking at the house and the outdoor shower was nice especially because of how sandy everything gets. The kitchen table seats 6 so if you have 10, it would be very tight. The house itself was very messy when we got there though. The kitchen items weren’t cleaned (things like the stove and pans were dirty and needed cleaning before use) there was sand on the ground and overall the house was very “worn.” The interior Siding is coming off the walls, the floors were sinking in and soft, boards on the porch felt unsafe for our toddler to be on, door hinges were broken, the couch was stained. I understand this is a beach house, but it was much dirtier than we had hoped for. It has so much potential, but really needs some TLC. One thing that should be noted, is that the house comes with no basic amenities. You have to bring your own towels, toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen dish towels, dish washing soap (even though they require you to wash the dishes) laundry detergent, and even bed sheets, which I felt was really strange and not well highlighted in the listing until you got check in/ instructions.
