Recreational Therapy – Cozy 2 Bedroom Log with Hot Tub and Fireplace in Deep Creek Lake (Near Swallow Falls)

Welcome to Recreational Therapy, a serene, single-level retreat designed for comfort, connection, and adventure. This two-bedroom home features a queen bed in one room and a twin-over-full bunk in the other—perfect for families or small group of friends. The cozy living area invites you to relax by the gas fireplace while you watch your favorite shows. Whip up meals in the stylish kitchen or take it outside to the back deck, where a gas grill and private hot tub await. In the evenings, gather around the firepit and listen to the calming sounds of nearby Swallow Falls.

Hike to Swallow Falls and the Youghiogheny River directly from the property! Though tucked away for privacy, Recreational Therapy is just a short drive from all the best area attractions. Whether you're seeking rest, adventure, or a bit of both, this is your perfect home base in the mountains.

THIS HOME is not pet-friendly (undisclosed pet fee will be charged at 3x advertised pet fee). This home does not have air conditioning, washer/dryer, or dishwasher. This home has an exterior camera. Max. parking spaces: 3

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Minimum Age to Rent is 25 years old. Check-In is between 4 pm – 9 pm. Check-Out is by 10 am. Smoking/Vaping, Parties, Exceeding Max Occupancy or Pet Limit are not allowed.

WHAT TO BRING: Supplies are not provided; plan to bring all paper products, food/spices, coffee filters, trash bags, detergents, soaps, toiletries, household items, supplies and extra towels, if necessary. (Bed Sheets, Bath Towels, and Dishes are provided for max occupancy.)

WINTER RESERVATIONS: A 4WD vehicle is required to access rentals between November through April. Private driveways will not be snow-plowed unless and until there is 5 inches of snow.

RESERVATION PROCESS: (1) At time of booking- Electronically Sign the Rental Agreement to trigger your door codes and Pre-Arrival Information to be automatically sent. Door Codes will NOT be released without an e-signed agreement. (2) One day prior to arrival- You will receive Pre-Arrival Information that contains your door lock code, address and other important info. [If you do not receive it by noon that day, check your spam folder. If you still don't see it please call us directly to ensure a smooth check-in].

Nice remote getaway

Cabin situated back in woods, beautiful grounds! Cabin Cottman’s very clean Swallow Falls was awesome. We really enjoyed the fire pit. all was great!!!

Snowy Weekend

Views are amazing. Cabin is cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately the hot tub was not clean. Didn't want to bother anyone with the weather we were having. Would have been nice if we could have used it, but overall would definitely stay here again. Very close to just about anything you would want to do or need.

Honeymoon get away

Our stay was nothing short of perfect. Beautiful cabin, beautiful area. We were not blind sided by anything. The hiking and views in the area were breath taking. I loved seeing all the wildlife. Ending every night it the hot tub was perfect with my new bride.

Beautiful & Relaxing!

My stay here was perfect! The house is beautiful and clean, and they do have a large AC unit in the living room so the house was nice and cool. The hot tub was also in great condition and was professionally cleaned just as I arrived. The property is totally private and surrounded by wildlife. The location was perfect (and easy to find) as it was just a 10-15 minute drive away from Deep Creek Lake State Park, restaurants, and shopping! This was the perfect choice for a relaxing weekend away! I would absolutely stay here again!

Clean and great views

Perfect little cabin in the woods. Super clean and had all bedding/towels supplied. The hot tub was amazing and the back porch was roomy with a great view. You can hear the falls when outside and it was really cool. Huge fire pit and comfortable Adirondack chairs. Only suggestion would be to pack flashlights/lanterns. A storm caused a power outage for about 7 hours and once it got dark, you couldn’t even see your hand in front of your face. We found a flashlight, but the batteries were dead. We will definitely consider booking this place again in the future!

Cabin Review

The cabin was cute and cozy and perfect for a couples get a way! Hearing the falls provided even more of a relaxing experience. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. The mattresses were pretty firm, so it wasn’t the best sleep, since I personally sleep more comfortable with a mix of soft and firm mattress. However, the total experience was worth it. There were even multiple small touches that made the cabin feel like home, such as board games, multiple blankets, and cute decor.

Getaway

This property is beautiful in a beautiful location. There was no mention that there wasn't a/c in the cabin in the listing and the first day we got there the hot tub was so hot, over the limit the sign said we could get in safely under 104 and it was set and locked in at 109. We reached out and vacasa reached out to the owner who didn't get back to us. Someone came to maintenance the hot tub on the day we left so we weren't able to enjoy the hot tub completely but was able to get in the last night we were there. Other than that, this location was phenomenal.

Great Home. Poor Management.

Loved the home itself. It’s secluded and very quaint. We had multiple mishaps happen during our stay and although Vacasa was responsive, there wasn’t much that could make our stay enjoyable since we had to call about the issues and then it took time to have someone come out and address them. We were told that we would receive a refund of the cleaning fee and hot tub fee which neither has been refunded and is not nearly comparable to the amount we paid to stay in the home. We waited a week from our contact with Vacasa about our stay to leave a review because the house is great just not well managed. We did not want to leave a poor review, however, Vacasa has now been unresponsive to our requests.

Getaway? or Stay away?

First the good, the cabin was cute and cozy. The location was awesome, you can hear Swallow Falls from the rear deck. It is very secluded and private. Now for the rest upon arrival to the property we noticed that the hot tub was never cleaned. When we reached out the same night we checked in I spoke on the phone with a gentleman who was very nice and seemed sincere about the issue of the hot tub. He said they would get someone over ASAP to get it cleaned. No one ever showed up. I reached out multiple times for help on it and no one ever reached out or came to address the issue. I also reported issues with the cleanliness the first night of our stay. The sink had dry food I. It The fire table outside didn't work and neither did the inside fire place. Trash left all around the property, Lights flickering inside the cabin and loose/squishy floor boards. By far the worst rental experience I have ever had. Very disappointing that we didn't get to use any of the promised amenities that we wanted to use will not be back. You have been warned.

Celebrating Retreat

We loved it! Property was private, cabin was exactly as pictured but even better! Americana Decor was an added touch for the 4th of July. Was super clean. We used fire pit each night and the hot tub. You could hear Swallow Falls We would definitely recommend and would go back! Our first Vrbo experience, we were pleased!

Fantastic Cabin!
