The Bee’s Knees

My wife and two dogs had a great stay here. It’s a short drive to the beach and many of the local shops. Our two dogs loved being able to have their first beach experience here.

Nice getaway

We needed a place close to the beach that allowed pets. This place was perfect for that and the details (linens, beach towels, functional space) all met or exceeded expectations. Property team was nice, responsive and helpful

Absolutely Wonderful!

Bees Knees is amazing! I have never stayed in such a well appointed home! Has absolutely everything you could possibly need. Furniture and beds are so comfortable! We enjoyed the yard and the golf cart, very close beach parking. The bee accents are a really special touch, loved it!

Amazing place

We really enjoyed our stay and kook forward to another visit. The owners are very generous with the chef's kitchen and appliances. The home is clean and pet friendly our dogs loved chasing the squirrels

Bee;s Knees

Great location. Property was as described, nicely decorated and equipped. Check-in was easy, owners were quick to respond to any communication and provided accurate information. Would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in a vacation close to the beach with many good restaurants, grocery stores and outdoor activities.

Best Home for Families in Oak Island!

I can’t say enough about how awesome our trip was. This home has everything you need. Tawnya has thought of everything down to batteries, cooking spices, beach accessories galore etc. I’ve stayed in several rentals that do not hold a candle. The golf cart is a game changer and definitely worth the steps to include. Our first day was my birthday and she made it extra special with some beautiful treats!! I would come back again and again!

Home Away From Home

We loved the Bee's Knees! The house was loaded with ALL of the amenities of home. It was more than enough room for our family of 4, and incredibly comfortable. We made memories for a lifetime here and look forward to coming back again.

Great stay at Bee’s Knees!

We loved staying at the Bee’s Knees! The house was perfect for our family of four. They had lots of kids books and games that kept my children occupied when we didn’t go to the beach. The golf cart was definitely a big hit as well which made our trips to the beach so easy. The hosts were extra helpful and responded to me right away with any questions I had. Next time we are in Oak Island we will definitely be staying there!

Beautifully furnished, well equipped, and ideally situated, The Bee's Knees was a great place to stay. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The private fenced yard was perfect for our furry companion and we enjoyed the easy walk to the beach and proximity to shops and restaurants. A+++

Home away from home

This was my family's second stay at The Bee's Knees. The place is kept up so well...it's clean, cute, cozy, and has all you need for a comfortable stay. The owner's have thought of everything! The screened in porch is my favorite place to relax, especially during this fall visit. I highly recommend anyone wanting a comfortable and convenient stay at the beach to rent The Bee's Knees!

2nd Time Staying

This was our second summer vacation staying at The Bee’s Knees. We have enjoyed it so much both times. The house is clean and has everything you need! Our dogs love the fenced backyard and being able to explore around the oak trees without having to be leashed. We also enjoy renting the golf cart to get around. It makes the trips down to the beach much easier! Thanks for another great stay! We’ll definitely be back :)

Great for kids

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Our kids loved all the games and toys that were there. They also loved riding the golf cart. The golf cart is a must, it makes getting around with kids so much easier. My wife loved the screened in porch. We definitely plan to come back another time.

Restful Weekend

We had never been to Oak Island before so we had no idea of location to stay. We could not have picked a better spot. The proximity to beaches and restaurants and the ability to ride the golf cart pretty much everywhere we wanted to go was so nice. It was nice to have a private backyard space but still be so close to the beach. We brought our two dogs and they seemed to feel very comfortable as well. It is also the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. Couldn’t recommend booking more!

Fantastic Stay!

We had a great time at the Bee’s Knees. The hosts really have it buttoned up. The home was charming, clean, fully stocked and comfy. Our fur babies loved the fenced in back yard. The best part was tooling around the island in their golf cart. Great fun!! Mariah was the co-host and answered our texts promptly and super nice to work with. Thanks for sharing this property with us. We will be coming back.

Our new favorite place!

If I could give this house more than 5 stars, I definitely would! This is absolutely the cutest beach house with plenty of room and it’s better than the pictures! The house was super clean, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, the back porch area was our favorite spot to hang out, and it was so easy and so much fun to explore Oak Island on the golf cart! The binder they made was full of instructions for anything and everything we could possibly need while we were there and it was so helpful! Bill and Tawnya literally thought of everything to make this house a home away from home! We can’t wait to come back!

Everything you’re looking for!

The Bee’s Knees is a perfect place to stay! We liked it so much this is our second time around! We brought 2 of our fur baby’s too! It’s extremely clean and everything looks picture perfect exactly like we remembered. If you bring your pets or have children, the privacy fence is completely secure and you can relax know they are safe! It literally has everything you need and more already there. Kitchen is fully stocked! Everything you’ll need for the beach! It is a home away from home. ❤️ The owners have been extremely wonderful both times we’ve stayed. I highly recommend The Bee’s Knees for your stay at Oak island!😊

Comfortable, Clean, and Fun

We really enjoyed staying at the Bee’s Knees. This place is just as the pictures show. The owners have thought of everything which makes your time at the beach so easy. The kitchen is fully stocked with what you need to cook just about anything. We thought the backyard area was beautiful and cozy. Driving the golf cart made Beach parking easy, and we appreciated the instructions and map of the golf cart route. Sometimes I hesitate to rent a dog friendly place sight unseen because they are not always clean. But the Bee’s Knees was nice and clean and did not disappoint! Thank you, Bill and Tawnya!

Good for young family and dog

We had a lovely chill time with the yard for our dog and fire pits! There is a whole closet of new toys that my young children had an absolute blast with. Everything that you need to go to the beach and have fun in the home without having to pack a ton of extra stuff. They even had dog beds and toys, as well as a pack and play, high chair, and plastic cups, bowls, straws, and small size utensils for very young children. They have thought of everything and even have a "junk drawer" for pens, tape, lighters, and each bathroom had first aid kits and there were even sealed toothbrushes just in case you forget yours. They put extra thought into everything and it was really nice. We really enjoyed the home, thank you!

Perfect for families with dogs!

We have stayed at The Bees Knees in Oak Island twice now and have enjoyed our stay each time. We have 3 medium sized dogs and it is always so difficult to find places that allow more than one or two dogs. They have a nice fenced in yard and a screened porch that were just perfect to let our dogs out. We only used one of the bedrooms as it is just me, my husband and now our little boy who is 3 months old - they have a pack and play that he could sleep in and we just kept that in the primary bedroom with us. But there are two other bedrooms that would be perfect for bigger families. The house is conveniently located and is a nice short walk to the scenic overpass. It’s about a 15-20 min walk to the beach (perfect for wearing out our dogs). They provide the essentials which makes it nice not having to pack so much stuff (we have a carload already with 3 dogs and a baby). The house is clean and cozy and would definitely recommend it to anyone I know.

Relaxing family beach vacation!

We had a great time at The Bee’s Knees! Bill & Tawnya are very helpful with any questions, and even let us know about closures since the island was getting prepared for Idalia during our stay. The home was very clean and convenient to restaurants and shopping areas. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could ever need if you plan on cooking meals, everything you need for a fun day on the beach is already there and saved us the trouble of packing even more stuff, and plenty of toys and games that my 8 year old niece had so much fun playing with during her stay as well. The beds were probably the most comfortable we’ve had in a vacation home! We also rented the golf cart for the week (highly recommend!). This was so convenient for beach trips, and much easier to find parking than if we had taken a vehicle. Our dogs enjoyed the dog beds and toys provided, and loved being able to go out in the fenced backyard throughout the day. The ring toss game on the back porch is very fun, and we enjoyed quite a few evenings of some friendly competition of seeing who could get the highest score. Highly recommend staying at The Bee’s Knees if you’re looking for a dog friendly & relaxing spot in Oak Island! We definitely plan to be back!
