What a gem! Felt like a $400 per night hotel but wasn’t! Very luxe. Perfect location for all of Noto’s landmarks! Great food right around the corner. Best hotel on our trip!

Great location but hotel could improve

Great location in Noto. Our room at the Hotel la Dependance was quiet, clean, spacious and well appointed on the whole. But it is not a real hotel, with just one person (perfectly friendly) at reception during day time only; not a single chair in the room; and it is cheap skate for the price (eg charging for water from the fridge; and providing only paper cups and no tea bags or coffee for the kettle). Also the bottom of the door frame leading to our bathroom was rotten and needed replacing. Poor maintenance. Potential to be a great hotel, but not there yet.

10/10, really happy with this hotel. I’d read some of the reviews before that said you could hear noise from the street below and that it was difficult to get into the rooms but me and my Mum had neither of these issues. We didn’t hear any noise from the street below at night! When we arrived, we were able to drop our bags off and head out for a couple of hours before we could get into our room. The woman on reception then showed us how to get into the room using a link on my phone but also gave us a key in case we had any issues. The room itself is clean, lovely and smart. The water pressure is great and we had hot water (we didn’t at our last hotel in Noto!). The shower products are fancy Ortigia ones and smell great. The WiFi is fast and there is a TV (though we didn’t use it) plus a hairdryer, steamer and ample wardrobe space. The hotel itself is next to one of the best restaurants in town and literally a two minute walk to the main street in Noto where a lot of its cafes, restaurants and bars can be found. All in all, cannot fault this hotel. We’d originally booked for three nights (as we were feeling cautious given the previous hotel) and ended up extending for the rest of our trip. Thank you!

The only bad experience we had travelling Sicily for over 2 weeks. Eveything about this place is misleading. This isn’t really a hotel, it’s just a series of rooms with automated doors. There aren’t any staff, just communication from WhatsApp. There aren’t even any keys to the rooms, just an awkward unlocking system you have to use your phone for. Despite what they say there is no breakfast (despite it being advertised online, when we booked and even in the room) and there is no dedicated parking (despite saying so online). There is free public parking on the street but there’s no guarantee and when we were there it was very busy. We ended up paying 20 euros for a carpark 10 mins away and lugging our bags into town. I’m also sure they will try and deny/argue all of this as they did when we were leaving- but we couldn’t be bothered arguing any further- looking at other reviews that say the same thing they are clearly intending to mislead. Shame as the rooms themselves are nice and it’s in a good location- it’s just not a hotel.

n incubo!

All’arrivo presso la struttura ( dopo avere concordato telefonicamente con il proprietario la mattina dello stesso giorno l’orario del nostro arrivo ed avere ribadito che siamo 3 in una stanza e due in quell’altra più piccola) ci è stato chiesto chi avrebbe occupato la stanza singola. Ho prenotato due camere doppie ( una a mio nome ed una a nome di mio marito Federico De Socio che l’avrebbe occupata con mia figlia di 15 anni). Nella camera classic con balcone avevo specificato nelle note che viaggiamo con un bimbo di 7 anni che dorme nel letto con noi e necessitavamo di un set asciugamani aggiuntivo. Al nostro arrivo il proprietario voleva venderci a tutti i costi una camera aggiuntiva dicendo, con fare molto aggressivo, che se non ci fosse andato bene così potevamo andarcene. Loro in tre in una stanza non ci avrebbero fatto dormire. Così mi sono offerta di andare io da amici per queste notti lasciando la mia famiglia in hotel ed ho chiesto di accompagnarci alle stanze. L’albergatore ha ribadito con fare poco gentile che solo gli ospiti registrati presso la struttura avrebbero potuto accedere alle stanze e chei non avrei potuto assistere mio figlio che a 7 anni non è autonomo. In conclusione, disperati e sfiniti abbiamo prenotato un altro hotel sempre a Noto per mio marito e mia figlia. Siamo stati tutto il pomeriggio accampati per trovare una soluzione con l’albergatore che continuava ad insistere per venderci un’altra camera quando bastava farci pagare un supplemento

Beautiful boutique hotel in the centre of Noto

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms. When we arrived, we had a problem with our hire car. The staff were wonderful in helping us sort out replacing the car.

Una grande delusione! La camera che ci è stata data non era conforme alle caratteristiche indicate su expedia, era buia ed estremente scomoda vista le dimensioni. Inoltre si sentivano molti rumori dal corridoio. Wi.fi è tv non finzionavano e gli asciugamani sono in parte mancati per due giorni. Sul resto un velo pietoso...

Il posto e molto buono e l'amministratore e' un vero professionista, sempre molto servizievole e ben disposto. La prima colazione era eccelente. L'unico problema per me, che ho piu di 75, era rappresentato dalla mancanza di un ascensore per salire al primo piano, o al meno un dispositivo montacarichi per le valigie. Sono stato molto ben assistito dal amministratore chi ha portato le mie in camera, ma la scala l'ho dovuto negoziare Io. . Non mi scappa il fatto che sicuramente le Belle Arti non concederebbe permesso per tale macchinario oppure che non c'è posto fisico per installarlo.
