"Breakfast was the typical waffles, cereal, breads, yogurts, fruits and beverages. No salt or pepper for the hard boiled eggs.
Accessing the lobby was challenging for my spouse, who's a wheelchair user. The disabled parking was poorly marked and a distance away froma small ramp at the other end of the building.
The hotel is older but generally well-kept. Staff are friendly and informative regarding local restaurants, the farmer's market, and local shops.
Our room was ample and had a view of an adjascent marina and the Sound. No wheel-in shower but there were several bars and a sturdy shower chair.
We would stay again."
"The hotel was as expected, old and therefore quirky. For example the bathroom was inside to the bedroom. The second bed was in the main area of the hotel room. So the person sleeping in the main room had to go into the bedroom to use the bathroom. Squeaky old doors woke up the person sleeping in the bedroom when the bathroom was needed by the person in the main room.
The beds were quite comfortable with nice bed linens, but the hotel room was very hot, so we had to open windows because we couldn’t find a way to turn heat down. We could hear every creaky step taken above us and a flagpole outside our room clanked all night as a chain banged against the pole (remember, windows were open to cool the room, in Feb), making sound sleep challenging. The small shower stall was difficult to maneuver in and there was only a tiny shelf below the mirror to place toiletries. Hotel staff were very nice.
The Mexican restaurant located in the hotel served decent food and the staff were nice there too, but entrees were shockingly expensive and the restaurant was very noisy.
If you want to have a unique hotel experience and don’t mind some inconveniences, this hotel will give you some stories to tell. The library off the lobby is beautiful, filled with antiques. It’s also reasonably close to Port Townsend shops and restaurants and the waterfront. If I could’ve given it 3.5 stars I would have. 4 stars for the staff. "
"Breakfast was supposed to be from 6:30 to 10 am and it closed today at 9:30. When I approached the staff person (regular person) regarding why early closure, she was confused and thought it was 10 so I showed her clock which clearly said 9:30. To her credit she tried to give me the breakfast items she had available. Another couple came in at 9:45 and no breakfast. I note that my experience today was highly unusual. She was the regular staff person and has always done an excellent job, even accommodating people coming for breakfast at 9:55. I was concerned about her since she seemed confused regarding the time which is strange for an excellent employee, who always in the past has been great. I talked to the front desk at check out about my concern, especially over the confusion she had. My review above is not to get her “in trouble “, but appeal to someone to help her. She has always been very acommodating in the past and I would consider her an excellent employee."
"The room was very clean. The staff was excellent.Breakfast was good with many options including I do it yourself. Omelette pancakes or waffles.
Two, do you do do I was tasted. Very good stay would recommend it.And would stay here againThe complimentary snacks were outstanding.Never seen that at a hotel before"
