9/10 Wonderful! (314 reviews)
The check in was terrible. I needed a code to make it inside the lobby area, so family and and I were just standing outside with our luggage until someone who was staying there opened the door for us.
Check in was all done with the phone. No one was at the lobby to help out. I called Expedia customer service and it was so hard to get help and after finding someone I couldn’t understand her.

The Nohga Hotel was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our 21 day trip to Japan. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Kyoto. Great location and hats off to everyone working there. What a delight.

Kabin Taka is in a good location and is close to public transport, excellent shopping and the Nishiki Markets. The staff are really helpful and the rooms well equipped and comfortable. The addition of a gym was great, although it is quite small. We had two rooms and had no issues at all during our stay.

8.8/10 Excellent! (52 reviews)
"Excellent onsen hotel right at the end of the first day of the Kohechi Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. I came for the onsen and mountain seclusion, but they had such good maps of the Kohechi at the front desk that I decided to walk back to Koyasan the day I checked out. It’s about 20km through the ..."
