"This might be the coolest place I have ever stayed. Rooms are small (used to be a hostel) but spotless as is the rest of the hotel. Great history behind this building. Very comfortable sitting in the great room conversing with others. The peacefulness was in large part due to this being a TV free hotel."

"Stayed here on two separate occasions during a visit to the area. On both occasions the rooms were to the usual standard expected from a Hampton and the large TV provided crisp images. The lady on the front desk recognised us from our first stay."

"The website description and rating was unfortunately inflated. It was livable for 4 nights, but just barely. For not seeming like a good area, it was quiet and quaint once we were in the (upstairs) unit. We were given 3 sets of threadbare, crunchy towels for 4 registered people for 4 nights with no laundry access, though there was laundry on the listing. The linens were scant and pillows flat, plus the main bed squeaked and time my husband or I even rolled over so badly we considered just putting the matteess on the floor. I ended up spending 20 on pillows from Target to supplement but sorry, I didn't leave them. The "double" beds upstairs were fine, but definitely twin-sized, with an uncovered, pilled duvet and one decorative and one flat pillow each. Don't expect to sleep 6 at this property as advertised because the futon in the living room would maybe fit my 10-year old alone. The neighborhood was quiet and the temperature was fine. The kitchen served us well enough but would do well to have some measuring spoons for the provided ground coffee. The worst thing really was that the only bathroom (in the main bedroom) door didn't latch closed. If the bathroom door was fixed, the linens, pillows and bed were replaced, I'd maybe consider staying again because it was easy enough to access and communicate with the host, but at this point I wouldn't recommend you stay either until changes are made. For about 100/night plus taxes and fees, I think we overpaid."
"We had an absolute blast in this apartment!! It's older from the 40s and still has some pronation charm while also having been updated!! The parking was a little confusing but we ended up parking in front of the garages in the alley (they aren't in use). The lock is a tad touchy but manageable!! Literally walking distance to shopping, fast food, and Kennywood and driving distance to downtown Pittsburgh!! "
