The staff are the biggest bonus for the hotel, from the reception staff, waiting and household staff. There does appear to be an issue with the level of staff availability in the kitchen. The food was very good but we did have to wait an hour for our starters one evening even though there was no more than 12 people in the restaurant. The menu didn’t change during our stay. Although a buffet breakfast was advertised, this is only available if they have a certain number of staying guests. On these occasions you are offered the full à la cart breakfast, but by day 3 we just want a lighter breakfast, fortunately this was a buffet morning.
Parking is easy and plentiful and the hotel is serviced by the local bus service if you didn’t want or couldn’t walk into the centre. There is also Parnell train station, but we would only get that for the return journey as the walk is uphill and may be challenging for some
