"Very comfortable and well cared for. Spiral staircase to large upstairs bedroom. Wood floors shining. Property is on a dirt road which is a bit rough but also, no traffic past the lodge and a good place for a walk. Though we brought our own food, there was a lovely plate of apple cake,cookies and loaf of homemade bread waiting for on arrival that we enjoyed. A nice touch. Only negative was limited silverware and a sauce pan would be nice. Overall, an enjoyable stay. No tv or internet but I used...

"Peggy was VERY helpful, by providing information in the room for Groundhog Day. Her communication was thoughtful (providing check-in information, a hand-drawn map of the surrounding streets and highlighting the parking, and a list of local restaurants in Clearfield). There was a kitchen and full-sized refrigerator, as well as soda / candy / chips available to purchase on the honor system (it was good for my kids to see that). This was beyond perfect, and I couldn't recommend it more. "

"We were delighted by this property! The historic cabin was a great place for us to stay as we traveled to PA for a game at PSU. It was a little further out than other options we considered, but we are glad that we chose this one. Very cozy, well appointed kitchen, and big table for gaming made for a wonderful stay. Also loved reading about the cabin and property, looking at the artifacts, and hiking in the woods. We would love to come back!"

"The cost of our room was reasonable; however, 3 out of 4 light bulbs in our bed room did not work. (Both lamps with defective light bulbs had electric outlets which did work.) I liked the fact that the sink was in a separate room from the shower and that we had access to USB ports to plug in our hearing aid chargers. Finally, the drain for the whower/tub was slow. "
