Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at this property. The house was immaculate and as pictured. There is a nice tree top view (light and airy with all the windows) from the 3rd floor that is the main living space. Our family spent a lot of time in the early morning and later evenings relaxing and being comfortable in this space. There is also the convenience of the half bath on that same floor. The bedrooms were nice, the beds comfortable and the sheets of good quality. There are 2 outside decks and we used the top one daily. The kitchen has most everything you could need. The showers are a little tight but shouldn't be an issue for most people. There is good water pressure and lots of hot water. The park entrance is maybe 200 feet from the house and the beach is a 5 minute walk. You do have to cross a 4 lane main road but it was not difficult or unsafe to do so. We loved being close enough to walk there. The trails through the park and easy and have benches along the way and some really pretty views of the water. We used the laundry and the outdoor shower and both worked great. We really enjoyed our stay here, had no issues and would consider this property for a future stay.

Worked well for a relaxing week at the beach

The property was conveniently located to the beach, the boardwalk, shops and restaurants. We enjoy a daily walk and the trails at First Landing State Park were perfect for that. The layout of the house was good for the five of us, two seniors, our daughter and her two children aged 15 and 18. The two flights of steep stairs might not work for anyone with mobility issues.

4 night stay

Jeannie was an exceptional host. She was attentive and helped us during the check-in process. The house is full of necessities that was extremely helpful. Just forgot that it didn’t include towels so we had to go out and buy those. But everything from coffee filters to paper towels was just so nice to have there. It was a great place to stay-quick walk to the beach and parking was great.

Great house in North End of Virginia Beach

This is a great house in a quiet neighborhood away from the craziness of the center of Virginia Beach. There were 6 of us (2 adults and 4 teenagers) staying for 6 nights and we had plenty of room. Three bedrooms on the first floor and a large open room on the second floor next to the kitchen. Each floor had a balcony with morning sun and late afternoon shade. Kitchen and pantry were fully stocked even with things like ziplock bags and a 10 minute drive to the grocery store for food so we didn't have to eat out all the time. Laundry room is in a separate entrance below the house and there was also an outdoor shower with warm water to wash off beach sand. 10 minute walk to the beach which was not all that crowded.

Disappointed - Cannot Recommend to Others

1. Deferred maintenance throughout 2. In addition to no towels (which owner noted), no shampoo, soap or tissues were provided. 3. 18 steep stairs to reach front door. (Not a problem for us but might be for others.) 4. Spider webs on railing and on some screens. 5. Interior spaces were clean.

A perfect beach house for our family of four. The living room, with its giant window looking into green trees, and a mirrored wall, felt even more spacious than it was. The old leather sofas were comfy for watching TV, the dining table great for family meals and games, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking at home. The house is perfectly designed for a relaxing vacation. Just a short walk to the giant empty beach (though you have to cross a busy street) or you could drive over in the morning and park easily. The supermarket and other downtown spots are a short drive away. Beds were comfortable, showers small but good, stairs up didn't bother us. We didn't venture into the park because of the biting flies outside, but the beach was bugfree, and I bet in other seasons it's wonderful. There were a few minor things we needed, but the host promised to supply them for the next guests. The north end of the beach is so pleasant and peaceful – perfect for a quiet family vacation.

We had a small problem with the stove, and it was resolved quickly and satisfactorily by the host. Great communication and response. This fit our little group perfectly. We were there for wrestling and the bonus of being able to run in the state park next door and on the beach was just amazing!

Excellent location, within two blocks of the beach and right next to the First Landing State Park. Just over two miles from the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Probably not the place for you if you don't like climbing stairs, but we had a great time during our visit.

Our stay at "Gone Fishing" was great! We couldn't have asked for a better location - just steps away from the park and minutes from the beach. The only drawback was the number of stairs. Thanks!

Great, Quiet Location

We had a wonderful stay at this beach condo on the edge of Seashore Commonwealth Park. The location was quiet but we'll positioned for beach visits or dinners down on the strip. The condo was very clean and we felt right at home. Thanks for a great place to stay!

Tree House by the Beach

Felt like we were nestled in a treehouse. Property is situated perfectly in a quiet residential neighborhood at the entrance of First Landing and across the street from the beach! House was well stocked with kitchen and beach necessities. Loved the open concept kitchen/dining and balcony for family time.

This home was absolutely perfect for our family beach summer trip! It’s location is perfect. Right at the entrance to the park and easy walking distance to the beach. The house is big and roomy. Great location in best part of VA Beach

Loved the location of this rental - next to the state park, at the end of cul de sac, and very close to the beach. North VA Beach has exactly the laid back beach vibe we were looking for. The property is clean and had everything we needed including beach chairs, a cooler and a beach umbrella. The only thing missing were bath towels (which we didn't realize ahead of time) so we had to run out and buy some! Overall it was a great vacation and I'd highly recommend this rental.
