This exquisite Victorian residence, built in 1917, offers breathtaking views of the splendid Chesapeake Bay. The home boasts three bedrooms: one queen on the ground floor and two queens along with twins on the first floor. It features four full bathrooms, three adorned with marble and granite, and one showcasing tile with granite finishes. Wrap-around porches provide panoramic vistas, making it an idyllic spot for relaxation and hosting loved ones. The second floor presents an exclusive living space complete with its own bathroom. Located mere steps away from the beach, which is less than 20 yards from the property, and a short stroll from a renowned fishing pier and restaurant on Willoughby Bay, this home promises a perfect blend of leisure and luxury.

Amazing Stay at an Amazing House!

The Big Blue House does not disappoint! Super clean, well appointed with everything you need for a great stay on the beach. Home is historic with amazing views and close to all we needed to see and do in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Host communication was awesome! Highly recommended!

Winter wedding anniversary retreat

My wife wanted a place on the beach with her dog for some days away with me over our anniversary. This place was perfect for us Despite very cold weather we enjoyed the well-insulated and cozy dwelling.

Big Blue was Great!

Excellent experience with our 4 night stay, exceeded our expectations. The home was everything we had hoped for, and more. Very large house, well maintained and clean, right on the beach. We liked the location, has a local feel unlike Virginia Beach oceanfront. We hope to return again soon!

Relaxing vacay on the bay

Loved this beautiful old home and how close we were to the beach! Pet-friendly and the host was very helpful. Many games for the kids were already at the house. We had a fantastic week there together!

Vintage Charm and modern comfort

This house is gorgeous! The updated and moderness of the kitchen and baths was just enough without taking anything away from the vintage, old world charm. The house was clean, had many ameneties and little touches that were appreciated. I look forward to staying here again!

Amazing property

I literally cannot express how amazing this property is. My family and I enjoyed every minute we spent in this beautiful home. The property is on the beach and was absolutely beautiful With a stunning view and easy walk to the fishing pier for a good dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

No problems with anything really, the neighbors were chatty and warm, access to the beach was easy. Some of the gates need hinges and latches and the parking was a little tight, but manageable. Would and probably will stay again,

Family Fun Time

We loved the house. Our group of 10 had plenty of space to spread out. It had everything we needed. The beach right out front was perfect for swimming. We are already are planning to come back.

Very nice house on the beach

We (2 parents + 2 older teens) had a great time. Very homey feeling, house is nice and spacious with lots of history, great location on the beach. The neighborhood is not great, but it’s OK. Close to the pier. House is very clean inside, yard may need some work.

Great First Family Vacation

This was our first family trip with our young children (4 under the age of 4). It worked out extremely well logistically and we had a great time with the home and location relative to the beach. The property manager was very responsive and everything was as expected. Thank you for your hospitality.

Beautiful property in a great location

Beautiful property, everything just as described! The best stocked kitchen I have ever had in a rental. My friends and I enjoyed cooking breakfasts here and relaxing on the front porch with an incredible view! Host checked on us several times to make sure everything was ok. Perfect location. We went to downtown Norfolk each night and it was easy to get where we needed to be. Would definitely rent this property again when in the area.

Gem on the Chesapeake Bay

Gorgeous hundred year old home loaded with charm and beautiful woodwork right on the beach. Location to the pier was ideal for a delicious quick meal and drink in a laid-back atmosphere. Surprise was the main floor bedroom that we were not expecting, but makes it so much more agreeable for older folks like we are. Being able to travel with our dogs, made it even more special. Very attentive owner/manager could not have asked for more.

We Love The Big Blue House

This is our 2nd year staying here. Our family loves everything about it. The beautiful, clean house and the location being a short walk down to the beach. Also, love being close to the Pier for fishing and dining. We had an issue come up and reached out to Quinn and he was quick to respond to help us. Our son-in-law loved the new top of the line grill they have. We had everything we needed to make our vacation perfect!! Hoping to come back next year!❤️

Family Christmas

We met our kids here over Christmas and it was great for us!! The house is charming, clean and well appointed. Many unique spaces. Nice bathrooms and kitchen. The beach is nice and weather was great for December. Groceries and activities nearby ( driving). Great house and location. Beach great for walking. Porches are beautiful. Loved the house!

Great Vacation

We loved our stay this year. You can’t beat the location being right on the beach and being able to sit on the porch with the great views. The property is exactly how it is represented in the listing. The house is accommodating for everyone and has plenty of space. It is also a great bonus to have simple essentials like soap, paper towels etc. provided. It was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The communication was excellent with immediate responses. It was great that dogs are allowed and loved the fenced in yard. We will definitely be returning.

See my review from last year. Everything was so good we returned again this year and plan to return again next year. Everything was perfect. Great location - walks right out to the beach but leaves a little barrier for privacy. Close to groceries and restaurants and activities (botanical garden). Sizeable house that has everything you need. Gated. Safe. Beautiful. Perfect.

Nice beach vacation

This historic house was gorgeous on the inside. We would love to know more history of the house! The furnishings were very nice and comfortable, The Kitchen and porch were highlights. It was perfect for our large family group and the kids loved the beach right out the back door. On the downside,the grounds needed a lot of attention. The yard was a mess with lots of junk lying around and 3 rusty unusable bbq pits. We had to buy one to grill out. It would take 1 good weekend and a dumpster to clean up the yard to make it deserving of this beautiful house. One other downside was the neighbor on the east side was a junky automotive business. It was junky and they had a very bright light that shone in the windows all night. The laundry room and supplied amenities were great and the beds were so comfortable. All decorating was beautiful. We had a great time Thanks!

Family Get Together

My husband and I rented this charming home for a long weekend in October to visit my husband's 90 year old brother and family that live locally in Norfolk. Typically when we visit we stay at a hotel in Norfolk...thankfully, it was all booked up and I found this gem of a place instead. Could not have picked a better place to gather and will definitely book this historic home on Chesapeake Bay again. The wrap around porch was an amazing feature. We spent our mornings on the porch having coffee overlooking the bay and afternoons and evenings leisurely reading or having a cocktail. And, with beach access from the house, we were able to take get daily walks in. The kitchen has a gas stove, which is a plus for me, and I was able to cook two big family meals without lacking for any cookware ( I did bring all of my own spices with me). Additionally, there is a drip coffee maker as well as a Keurig depending on your preference. A large dining room table was able to accommodate all ten family members I hosted for dinner. Despite the home being built in 1917, there is ample hot water and the water pressure was amazing! Most importantly and the biggest plus about this rental was the host, Quinn. She was in communication with us throughout our stay, just to check to see if everything was as expected or if we needed anything at all...we didn't... but just to have such a communicative host was so appreciated!! Thank you, Quinn for sharing this lovely home!
