  • This is one of the original well known Cottages on the island newly remodeled and furnished! Perfect for a romantic get-away, small family, or couples retreat! Hot Tub, Large Private patio, Gas Fire Place, etc.. One Bedroom, One bath, Cozy Living room, stained wood ceiling. Interior Dining room for 6 (8 counting bar seating) and exterior lounge seating for 6-8, picnic table for 6 and hot tub for 6! Covered Parking available for 1 vehicle on property. Perfect distance between the Ferry to the beach and Marine Avenue where you will find great shops, bars and restaurants island style!

Beach getaway

We had a wonderful quiet stay. Very fun island to stay on and we were able to take day trips to Laguna and Dana Point while here. Very convenient and nice and peaceful area. Host was wonderful and called to make sure our check in went smoothly. We’d definitely entertain staying again if it’s available.

Best Balboa Island rental by far

We loved our stay at Mariner’s Cottage! We live locally and book stays on Balboa Island for staycations. We have booked more than 10 rentals of all different sizes on the island over the past 5 years and this was by far the best. Best location, best interiors, best amenities, best hosts. Highly highly recommend!

Cozy Mariners cottage, well equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, tastefully furnished -1/2 block from Ocean in quiet neighborhood & 6 blocks from Balboa Island shops & restaurants! Balboa's Best!

We so enjoyed our long weekend stay at Mariners Cottage. The proximity to the water allowed us to stay cool with the breeze blowing in the windows. We could walk everywhere easily - a great location! Our stay was quick so we didn't have time to enjoy the fire pit or hot tub but the privacy of the back patio was nice to have available. Chase was very responsive to questions and the check in process was seamless. I would highly recommend this property!

Chase’s place was perfect for our little family! It’s a in a great location with walkable access to the beach and town. The beds were comfortable and the home was equipped with everything we needed. Peaceful spot to come home to

We stayed here during a vacation with our children and grandchildren. They shared a larger house where we spent a lot of time. We returned to this house at the end of the evenings for peaceful nights. This was perfect for a couple! We kept the windows open during the day and only ran the AC in the bedroom at night for coolness and white noise. This little house is conveniently located equal distance from the ferry and Marine St. It’s a quick 1/2 block to the walking path around the island. We didn’t use the hot tub, but it was conveniently located in a quiet courtyard just out the back door. We love Balboa Island and have made several trips here. I love that everything is within walking distance. We parked the car and walked all week. It’s very convenient to have a parking spot in the rear of the house. Check in and out was quick and easy. We definitely would stay here again!

One of the best rentals we've stayed at on the island. Having designated parking spot makes leaving the island stress-free, although street parking was plentiful. Overall a super comfortable place that was clean and was stocked with everything you need.
