No parties or events. Daytime visitors beyond your group need our written approval first.
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The Round House next door may host a separate group, so please keep voices and music down outside at night.
No smoking or vaping inside the house or on the porches.

    DOGS

Up to 2 dogs are welcome with a $150 pet fee per stay. Please tell us before you arrive.
No dogs on furniture or in beds.
Dogs must be house trained and crated if left alone at the house.
The property is not fenced and sits right on NC Hwy 183. Keep dogs on a leash or under close watch whenever they are outside.
Please pick up after your dog. Extra cleaning or damage from pets may be charged.
Service animals are always welcome at no charge.

    SAUNA AND COOL PLUNGE

The barrel sauna, cool plunge and large fire pit are for Wiseman House guests.
Use at your own risk and follow the posted instructions.
Children must be with an adult at all times. No one under 12 in the sauna.
No glass and no alcohol in the sauna. Keep sessions to 15 to 20 minutes and drink plenty of water.
If you are pregnant or have a health condition, check with your doctor before using the sauna or plunge.

    FIRE PIT

Fires only in the fire pit. Never leave a fire unattended.
Put the fire out completely with water before you go to bed.

    SAFETY AND CARE

This is a historic home with original stairs and floors. Please use the handrails and keep an eye on little ones. The staircase rails are old in the historic house and lower than in the current building standards. Watch our kids at the staircase.
Keep children and pets away from NC Hwy 183.
Black bears live in these mountains. Never leave food or trash outside. Use the trash bins located near the garage for full trash bags and secure the lid with a bungie to ensure animals do not get in.
Park only in the designated parking areas - gravel spot right off Hwy 183 at the front porch entrance or the concrete parking pad in front of the garage at the back porch area. Up to 5 cars. Do not block the driveway or the road.
Septic system: only toilet paper in the toilets. No wipes, paper towels or feminine products.
Please tell us right away if anything breaks. Accidents happen. Damage beyond normal wear may be charged.

    BEFORE YOU LEAVE

    Load and start the dishwasher.
Put all trash in tightly closed trash bags in the trash containers outside the garage, make sure the top of the container is tightly closed.
Leave used towels in the bathtubs.
Make sure to turn off the sauna and make sure the fire pit is out. Drain the cool plunge by opening the valve at the bottom and let it empty out. In below freezing temps, please empty the cool plunge right after use.
Set the Nest thermostat downstairs to 58 in winter and 76 in the summer, make sure to turn off electric baseboard heaters / window AC units upstairs, turn off electric fireplaces, close windows and lock the doors. That`s it. Our cleaning team handles the rest.
