This was a great cozy cabin in the woods! We used the fire pit at night and the kitchen for a couple meals. We didn't get to see the local bear but the place was great. The road leading to the house is tight so I wouldn't recommend bringing a big trailer but our sprinter made it no problem and a short trailer wouldn't be a problem either. When we were leaving we met the host and she was very nice too. We would gladly come back.
This place was great. Easy finding the home, great location, clean, and warm! It was freezing outside and this place was very cozy and comfortable. We will definitely stay again.
We had a great short trip here. Bear Crossing had a lovely setup and even had specific dog care items; it’s always great to be able to give your dogs an adventure too, thank you!
We stayed at Bear Crossing while attending the Games. The cabin was conveniently located to the event, quiet, clean, and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more and will book again for next year.
Wonderful cabin with a very cute, authentic and fun design
The kids were thrilled with Bear crossing. We stayed one night and had a wonderful time actually in the middle of the woods. It is very convenient that the house is adapted for traveling with a dog.
Was located close to things to do. Think stay would have been improved had the lighting in the kitchen been better and had there been towel racks or hooks for towels in the bathroom or bedrooms.

A good choice for an overnight stay when visiting Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain. The location was awesome with peaceful surroundings. We would definitely revisit. The only recommendation would be changing to LED lighting as the lighting was dim. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay.
We absolutely afored this cabin! Growing up in the Smoky Mountains our entire lives, this cabin gave us a since of nostalgia and comfort. The location was perfect as we had a wedding to go to at Linville Falls Winery (only a 3 minute drive!). 10/10 recommend

It was often difficult in the kitchen to use the appliances. Some plugged in. Some worked and some did not. Floors felt gritty if you walked around barefoot. Tv screen was smeared and dead bugs stuck on it.
Temperature settings were perfect. Bedrooms and bathrooms very clean.
Blankets in living room needed to be washed, smelled musty.

The cabin is very nice, tucked away and quiet. We absolutely loved that it is pet friendly. I would suggest that the area rugs be removed, the pet urine smell was quite overwhelming. Especially from the rug under the dining table. Other than that, the stay was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this property.
We were only there for 1 night but it worked out great for us and our 2 pups. Our host was easy to work with. The location was close to Linville Falls/Caverns. The house was very clean.
Loved the location. The house had fun games and entertaining aesthetics. Super cute and pet friendly with pet cages, a bed, etc. Very specious with a mom-n-pops environment. I would have done another check around the living room as we found what looked like previous owner's dog feces on the floor and a mild smell of dog urine by the crate, but otherwise, it was very well organized and clean.
The cabin overall was very nice. We had a little trouble with the lock box, but after a few tries, it opened. It was quite comfortable. The living room and dining area were spacious. If I have to look for something to complain about, it would be the toaster oven which didn't seem to want to toast, and the coffee cups which were tiny.
I stayed here for a weekend with my niece and my dog. I loved everything about this cabin. It has so much character (it’s definitely older but I think that added to the charm!) it’s much more spacious than I expected, in a great location, cozily decorated, very clean, and well stocked. It had everything we needed and more. My dog was SO comfortable here, I’ve never had traveling with a dog be such a breeze. The host responds to messages quickly and is beyond accommodating. I’ve already referred other family and can’t wait to stay here again.
Overall the property was exactly as advertised. The cottage was clean and roomy enough for 3. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen area could use some better lighting. The back deck looked pretty new but there was no seating on it. One important thing to know is there are no restaurants in the area open on Monday night which is the one night we stayed! We had to drive 15-20 minutes into Newland to find food.
The location was good for access to Linville Falls.
The cabin was very clean with a plethora of little additions that were thoughtful
-Pet crate (already set up) for our dog. We didn’t need it but the option was great
-Basket of misc pet supplies, if needed
-Food and water bowl for a pet already there
-A lot of movies, games, and books to choose from
-Large tv with directTV
- The fire pit outside was a great option too. We planned to use it but we arrived later than we expected.
Highly recommended
We had an amazing time! The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. This was our yearly family vacation. Michael made the whole process easy. Usually planning a family vacation is more stressful. The check in and check out process was easy. The cabin had everything we needed and some stuff we forgot. The open space inside was great for our family including the games. The yard was great for our dogs. This cabin is definitely pet friendly so you won't have to leave the fur babies at home. Please bring them!! Michael answered all of my questions directly and quickly because the Vrbo messaging wasn't working properly. I hated bothering him but his hospitality was the best I've ever had renting all these years through Vrbo. I've been renting for 10 plus years. My family and I highly recommend this cabin and renting from Michael!!!
