"We had a lovely stay at the Old Schoolhouse. Our room and bathroom were spacious. Our hosts had homemade treats for us each day (an oatmeal raisin cookie our first day and a piece of spice cake the next). Our breakfast was at a large table with the other guests. We loved talking to them, several of whom were walking the length of Hadrian's wall. The breakfast itself was delicious and generous. We would absolutely stay here again."

"The room was clean and I really liked the fact it was a walk-in shower and not one over the bath. It wasn't a fixed shower head either, which was great. Everything was nice and clean and the staff were lovely and helpful."

"Beautiful old building and first impressions was how cozy the place was kept without the need for radiators on in the room on a cold October evening. Really friendly hosts. The furnishing is old but this didn't impact on our stay. Great location and value. Breakfast was affordable and the cooked breakfast was good, continental option was a bit lacking. Will certainly stay again if in the area"
