We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this condo while visiting during Mardi Gras. The location was absolutely perfect for getting back and forth to the main district and French Quarter, as the ferry was mere steps away. We could escape back here at night and didn't have to be in the middle of all the festivities 24/7. The condo was spacious and perfect for the two of us. The bed and linens were comfy and luxurious and everything was fresh and new and really nicely appointed. Bea's shop on the first floor was quaint and offered lots of great items - I spent way too much money in there but couldn't help myself.
There were a number of little annoyances that prevented me from giving the condo 5 stars, however. Upon arrival: had to wait in the rain to hear back from the owners to let us in (having the key in the lockbox or letting us know not to use the main phone number provided would have been nice); the TV wasn't working, until we figured out it wasn't plugged in, then the remote wouldn't work, until we found the batteries it was missing and put them in. In the kitchen: had to ask for a fry pan to cook dinner; then had to ask for a can opener; there were no dish towels, scrubbies or wash rags to clean with; couldn't get the coffee pot going the first morning and tried everything, only to discover the outlets needed to be reset (who wants to mess with someone's electrical???) In the bathroom: only shampoo, no conditioner, even though it said toiletries were provided; the full-length mirror was really dirty; and there was painters tape around the drain for the future washer, which didn't look really nice.
Bea and her husband were very responsive any time we needed help, but I didn't like feeling I was bothering them. So no major issues at all. Perhaps it's just because the place is so new and they haven't finished up all the little details, or maybe I'm a little pickier because I am an Owner with VRBO myself. But my husband is already talking about coming back, and this will be our #1 choice for a place to stay.
