Nice touches & convenient location
The host was prompt with communications. Place was clean and well stocked. Really appreciated the extra touches, such as a variety of coffee options for Keurig and the individual boxes of cereal. If I were there during summer I would take advantage of the basket of S’mores fixings.

USCGA visit
We came in to visit the Coast Guard Academy with our son and the location was perfect as it was only a couple of miles to drive there. It was also a great location to go into Rhode Island for a quick day trip and get some lunch in Newport. Overall, for just the 3 of us, it had everything we needed and our stay was very enjoyable.

Very nice space
We come to New London regularly and this was definitely one of our favorite places to stay. The property is very clean and feels like home. We enjoyed the space and it’s very important to me that it has the amenities of home which it did. I highly recommended staying here.

Clean, quiet and cozy
Family of four traveling to visit local colleges and towns. The accommodations were just as described and fit our needs perfectly. The home is clean, quiet, well equipped, and comfortable. The host is pleasant, present and responsive but not visible. It’s a safe neighborhood feel in a convenient location for exploring the area. My family highly recommends this property.

Super cute, economical place to stay in New London!
The stairs are the only bad thing I can say about this cute, cozy, well stocked 3rd floor apartment! Sleeps 6 comfortably, includes playpen and high chair, beach parking pass, beach towels and other beach gear! The owner is super responsive and friendly. It is a great value, especially if you are staying longer than a weekend. Close to Ocean Beach, Coast Guard Academy and Mystic. We loved it!

Had a great welcoming. Owner -is amazing! On a one way street you drive up to the property hidden towards the back off the road. Street is lined with nostalgic New England style homes. The long drive takes you to the circular drive where you can unload your passengers and luggage. There is plenty of safe parking. You then take a narrow set of red stairs to the 3rd floor apartment. You are greeted with shared spaces with low inviting lights and candles . The property has outdoor spaces which the owner encourages and provides you with smores ingredients. When you walk up the flight of stairs you enter a spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Has everything you need! So comfy and feels like home. Shannon adds her sweetest touch with her bombdigigety muffins. Love everything!!

Great location, close to Sub Base
The apartment was larger than I expected, quiet, clean and the little amenities available if needed was amazing. Plenty of towels, comfy beds and full kitchen. Location was easy to get anywhere we needed for our reunion of Pargo vets, whether the base, Foxwoods, or the coast. As long as you're not scared of heights I'd say its a perfect rental for anyone looking for the Groton/New London area.

They thought of everything!
The property was very well stocked! They had all the dishes and soaps we could have needed and more! There were ample towels and everything was well organized. I was very impressed with the many small touches that were thoughtful and helpful (like makeup remover cloths in the bathroom!). The s'mores basket and outdoor fireplace were also really nice. We didn't get to experience the freshly baked muffins I read about in so many reviews, but maybe the timing was off. The only problem we had was that due to heat/humidity and lack of A/C they had the windows open and the window cooling units were a little noisy and allowed for some bugs to enter. Also, I may be a little bit of a clean freak, but I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the comforter on our bed, the sheets were clean but you could tell the comforter was not washed after the last guest. Overall we had a really great experience and I would stay here again!

Hi Emily Thank you so much for your review. My apologies about the comforter. I’ve had to hire a cleaning company instead of doing it myself and we’re still working out some kinks. And I promise if you come back there will be muffins!!

Great Host, lots of room, all you need!
Apartment was clean and had everything we could need. The host even included farm fresh eggs and milk! Everything was wonderful, beds and linens comfy, lots of blankets to cuddle in. The only thing people staying here should be aware of is that it was on the third floor of home & you walk up steep narrow wooden stairs on outside of home to the entrance. It was not fun carrying luggage up and if you have any height issues. However, once inside it was truly awesome.

Felt just like home
Although going up and down the stairs was a work out, everything else was wonderful. It truly felt like a home away from home. Shannon was friendly and helpful, when the tv wasn’t working she came right over and fixed it for me. The place was very clean and on top of the delicious muffins she made there was not much that Shannon didn’t think of, including extra tooth brushes! I would highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

The property worked great for our family of 5. Our only challenge was the outside stairs to get to the unit. Take note if you have small children or anyone with leg issues, it’s a climb.

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious and comfortable apartment, tucked away in a lovely neighborhood close to the beach and not far from downtown. Shannan provided everything we needed, and more - like a beach pass to Ocean Beach Park! Since the purpose of our visit was to enjoy the beach, we really appreciated this.

Home away from home!
This may hands down be the best rental/experience I have ever had! Without asking they thought of everything, and have everything you might need if you forgot it! This was like a little home away from home - especially in these times where you want to visit with friends and cannot go out much, you could not ask for a better place to stay! We enjoyed our stay and all the little touches they have into their space! Definitely will be going back!

Quaint Apartment with Homey Touches
Shannan’s Place was super homey and welcoming. She has thought of everything and felt more like a bed and breakfast with the fresh muffins and other touches such as plentiful books and magazines, cozy blankets, toiletries in case you forgot anything, and snacks and goodies for the kids. We explored locally by going to Ocean Beach, a beautiful family friendly beach with soft waves, Fort Trumbull, a fort from the Revolutionary War, and nearby Mystic, a quintessential seaside town with an amazing aquarium and cute shops. Overall we had a great time!

Lovely place to stay
Best place in New London! Shannan is a wonderful hostess. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed! We wanted to make s'mores by the fireplace and she provided all the items we needed to make a fire and she even gave us the skewers we needed. We enjoyed making our meals in the kitchen and Shannan even delivered hot, delicious muffins. The decor in the rental was wonderful and the rental was very clean. The beds were super comfy. The rental was close to grocery stores, restaurants and many local attractions. Our favorite restaurant was The Recovery Room. The Italian food was fabulous and they served large portions. It is just 2 blocks from the rental. We enjoyed walking at Fort Trumbell and viewing The Eagle Coast Guard tall ship. This rental is centrally located for you to enjoy all of the neat places in neighboring small towns. We certainly enjoyed our stay and hope you will stay here also!

Great one night stay!
Booked this a few months ago for a girls trip to Mohegan and a concert. Property was as described. Very clean, and so cozy. I loved all the little accents and special touches. The beds were very comfortable. Thanks for having a fan in the closet, I like “white noise” while I sleep. The bathroom was spotless, so many fresh towels and anything you may have needed if you forgot anything. It was so thoughtful to have yummy, homemade blueberry muffins waiting for us. What a great selection of snacks and breakfast items. Really appreciated that! I would recommend this home and host and would stay here again!

Fabulous, warm, welcoming home!
We loved our stay at Shannan's place! We liked it so much that we wish we could've lengthened our time in CT and stayed a few more nights :). We were in town to look at the Coast Guard Academy with our son, and it was nice and close. The home was clean and so welcoming. Our beds were comfortable and Shannan thought of so many sweet details to help us feel at home. In fact, when she communicated with us prior to our visit she ended her note with 'make yourselves at home.' When we arrived we were very impressed with all the ways she made us feel 'at home.' There were delicious, homemade muffins waiting for us on the table when we got there, as well as fresh fruit, eggs in the fridge, cinnamon bread, lots of snack foods, tea, coffee, etc. What a nice welcome for us! In the bathroom, Shannan provided toiletries and a basket of 'extras' for just in case. So thoughtful!! This turned out to be super helpful when our son realized he didn't have his toothbrush! The towels were plentiful and fluffy and smelled really good :). There were 5 in our party...my husband and me, our daughter and her husband, and our 17 year old son. We were very comfortable and each had our own 'space,' with 2 bedrooms and a living space that was separated by a door. I'm an early riser and was able to go in the kitchen early in the morning without waking everyone else up. The house was easy to find and check-in was super simple. We were sorry we never got to meet Shannan...we arrived late and left the next morning, but got the feeling we would really like her. She has a gift of hospitality for sure. Our daughter mentioned several times that if she ever does a rental, she'd like to be the kind of host Shannan is. If our son goes to CGA we hope to stay at Shannan's home again!

Thames Street Retreat
Wonderful 2 bedroom within walking distance to the ocean! Shannan was amazing and had everything you could possibly need at the apartment. If you’re not good with stairs, the three exterior flights might be an issue, but overall this was perfect for our quick overnight. We used the outdoor fire pit when the sun set and it was truly picturesque.

Awesome price for lots of space.
We stayed here with our 6 young children while on a road trip. There was everything we could need inside so we didn't have to unpack anything but clothes. Very nice setup and fresh muffins for us when we arrived. The kids slept in one bedroom with a double and single bed and my husband and I slept with the baby in the other room with a queen bed and port-a-crib already setup.

Sweet and cute location
I stayed at this location the night before my wedding. I also had my bridesmaids get ready here as well and Shannon was great with allowing us to do so. The apartment is very cute and spacious. Shannon also provided us with some tasty baked snacks as well! Def would recommend for anyone looking for a place to book in the area to stay here!

Home Away From Home
My sons and I stayed at this property for most of the summer and loved every minute of it! Shannan and her family are wonderful, friendly people. The apartment is beautifully appointed and comfortable. The private stairs to the apartment are wide and not very steep and the A/C units were more than sufficient to cool the entire apartment. There are many restaurants, activities, and laundromats nearby. We will be staying here for any return trips to New London.
